The recommended average TBW Rating is 4, for an average typical user. I am very pleased with the overall performance of the WD-Black. And have found it runs cooler than my Samsung EVO's. And seems on equal footing speed wise. I replace my SSD's from primary position to secondary non-backup position every 4 years. It’s noticeably faster when booting, loading large games, and moving big files—the difference between waiting and not waiting is real. The drive feels solid (no weird heat or noise issues), and with PCIe Gen4 support, it future-proofs things even though my current motherboard is Gen3. What I like: the sustained performance is impressive—no big performance dips during long transfers. Using it for video editing and game installs, it handled everything smoothly. It also integrates well with WD’s dashboard software for monitoring health and firmware updates.
