Fortunately I have a similar purchased trunk I could copy dimensions. This is critical. There's a pin at the bottom attached to a mounting bracket like a conduit strap. Position center of that pin 1.625" below trunk top edge and 1.75" forward of inside back wall. Then open hinge to resting position. Open lid and attach to hinge. Lid will be leaning closed a few degrees, that is correct.
