Buggy image
It has a bad image burned on it. Cannot update/change the password from blank so that makes this useless if you cannot protect it with a password. Seems the whole file system is set to read only and that makes this useless. If I do not get a fix for this I will be requesting a refund. (Originally 1 star)UPDATE 2022Feb02: I found a new image to flash the internal memory with a new factory image and once that was completed it worked just fine. Still learning all of it's capabilities. If I had not had to do the research and the work to reflash it I would have given it 5 stars, but since I had to do all that extra work I am only giving it 3 stars. If you are handy enough, you can get this to work just fine but if you are looking for true plug and play and cannot accomplish these activities on your own you should consider something else. If however you are a hobbyist with the skills then this is a great option, especially if you intend to make modifications, it is a good base to start with.

Very difficult to get to run
The hardware is almost exactly what I was looking for to run a OpenWrt router.Unfortunately:* The out of the box firmware and the 2 images that i tried to download have bad ext4 images. This means that the device can not be configured.* The "official" OpenWrt ext4 images can save to the image, but do not have the second ethernet port driver (LAN7800) built or in any download site that I have found.* The seller is unresponsive to questions, like "which firmware version works?"Flashing the image is also a royal pain. You have to find the instructions first (on seeed's official site), which is not trivial. Now go to the download site in those docs. Use your in depth OpenWRT admin experience to select the right firmware. (ext4-factory). Now guess which file to download, as the file names are cut off in the download site. Then you have to download the source for, and compile a bootstrapper program to put the rpi in programming mode. (You have developer tools installed, right?) Now, disassemble the hardware, short out a couple pins (with a paperclip if you don't have a jumper lying around from your embedded hardware or pc building hobby), and then you can start transferring the image to the device. Now is the time to naively think that everything is going to turn out alright while enjoying a short lived false sense of accomplishment, because that image you just flashed has the EXACT SAME PROBLEM! I would advise against purchasing this unless:* You are not intending to run openWrt and are comfortable with rpi flashing,* or have the ability to cross compile OpenWrt images and make your own images. Some comments state that they have the firmware running by flashing a different image and to that I respond, "which version is that"? Certainly not the two I tried including the latest on 2/26/2022.BTW, the error messages in dmesg are:[ 1.492295] EXT4-fs (mmcblk0p2): mounted filesystem without journal. Opts: (null)[ 1.499806] VFS: Mounted root (ext4 filesystem) readonly on device 179:2.This implies that the ext4 file system was created incorrectly. probably using "mke2fs" with bad default options instead of using "mkfs.ext4", but who knows at this point.Buyer, Beware!*** UPDATE ***I was able to fix the ext4 partition on the 2/25/2022 image by mounting the images on my ubuntu box. In order to do it:* Flash the image* rpiboot from the ubuntu box. (remember to short the boot pin) - the image drives should mount into ubuntu* unmount the rootfs partition (assuming rootfs mounted as /dev/sda2) - umount /dev/sda2* run fsck on the partition and tell it to fix the errors it finds - fsck.ext4 /dev/sda2* eject boot/rootfs* reboot the seed box - you can now save passwords and configure the router.Unfortunately, I can't install any kernel modules from OpenWRT's update site. It looks like the kernel is custom compiled. If you want to use an external usb peripheral, that needs an extra driver. it's not going to work with the Seeed image.Seeed - PLEASE SUBMIT THE CHANGES TO BUILD THE LAN78XX USB DRIVER AS A MODULE TO THE OPENWRT PROJECT. That way your users won't have to rebuild the entire OpenWRT project to get your software working, AND you can maintain much less software.

Nice board that works well
Got this board, mainly due to including the CM4 with the package and it being in stock. Would have liked to have seen a little bit more complete kit with a couple more items - heat sink, thermal pads or paste, cable to plug into the fan header on the board, etc, but overall this got me up and running. Reviews in other places have noted that the 2nd Ethernet is via the USB bus, so isn’t as fast as it could be. I’ve not used the 2nd Ethernet port yet, so hasn’t been an issue here. Would have been nice to have an expansion slot and/or a traditional RasPi GPIO header.

Great little gigabit router with custom OpenWrt!
Works great out of the box! You know how to operate this piece of kit, and have a general knowledge of how to flash the eMMC, as well as operate OpenWrt. Dont listen to the dumb haters in the comments not who don't have any clue on how to operate Pi, nor a router with custom firmware such as OpenWRT. This is a great and suprisingly powerful little router that you can basically do all sorts of things with this piece of kit such as nas, vpn, proxy, you name it.I must also compliment the seller for getting on top of the shipping, they didn't waste any time andthe package arrived quickly, nicely done!

Comes with buggy image
The image has the file system configure in read only mode, you can't change the root password.
