These are a delicious low calorie snack that is perfect for people who are watching their weight, but want something substantial to snack on. These taste a little off to me.
I prefer the taste of the other popular brand here on Amazon. The other brand also has fewer chestnuts that appear to have started going bad prior to processing, at least in the patches I have purchased.

Excellent for Stuffing on Thanksgiving
I use these in place of the expensive jarred roasted chestnuts from France that I used to buy. These taste great and are a fraction of the cost of the French version. Primary use is Thanksgiving stuffing.

not as fresh as storebought
This brand of chestnuts is very good, but it seems they are not stored in great conditions in the Amazon warehouses bc they tasted kind of stale, as compared to those I buy at Costco, even though they were nowhere near the expiration date.
