Schlage Lock #SC8400PA-619 8X34 Satin Nickle Kick Plate

This came well packaged and in a timely manner. A couple of tips I might toss out; if you have a metal door you should use a punch in the metal before trying to drill the 1/16th hole for the screws. I didn't have a sharp enough punch so used a small nail that had a sharp point. It did the trick. You have to be careful when drilling into metal with a 1/16th inch bit, which was the recommended size. At first I thought it was too small a hole for the screw, but once you get the first couple threads started, it screws in real easy. I wouldn't want to use a larger bit.Once you get your holes marked and pilot holes drilled, only screw in the screws 3/4 of the way. It will allow you a slight "up or down" to get it really centered in the bottom of the door. Once all the screws are in, you can push up or down on the end of the kick plate and get a slight adjustment, should you need to.Also, do not over tighten the screws. Just snug them up AND don't remove the plastic protective film until you are all finished. Once the screws are in and you're pleased with everything, pull off the protective film and the kickplate will "come alive". Nice addition to the front door. I also got a door knocker and chain lock for the door, and now everything matches nicely with the satin nickel Schlage front door pull.

We just repainted a metal door to our condo, it looked much better, but it still needed something. We replaced the old scuffed, dirty and nicked kick plate with a new Schlage one. We chose Schlage because it was a name that we trusted. It made the door like new.

Excellent value for this top quality product. Looks very nice on our newly painted front door. Matches our other satin nickel door hardware quite nicely. Well packaged and protected during shipping. Easy to install. The pre-drilled holes all lined up perfectly with the holes in the door from our old brass kick plate. Came with four extra screws.

Bought this to replace brass kick plate. The item was boxed perfectly by the manufacturer, and that plus additional shipping protection by Amazon got me a ding-, dent-, and scratch-free plate. No complaints at all.

Very nice product and matches perfectly if you have other satin nickel products. I needed a 8X30 kick plate, but Schlage only offers a 6x30 or 8x34. I was easily able to take tin snips and trim it down to size.

The brushed finish looks great, though it did arrive slightly dinged...it had very minimal packaging and the jostling around in the box with other items put some very minor bumps in it. Installed you don't even notice them though.
