That is Insane - I used a stainless steel nalgene and never tasted metal once in my life. Customer service advice is to open and close the bottle until it smooths out - this doesn't work because the machining on the grooves is so poor - I could spend the rest of my life opening and closing this bottle to no avail (also why should I have to do this for 160$ bottle - as if I need to do your work). Stay away from this brand and product. They have terrible quality control and for a premium price you get a terrible product. The paracord loop holds the lid attached, making it safe to use on-the-move or in precarious locations. Easy to secure the bottle to the pack too, using the loop. Wide mouth makes it easy to use with a range of filters and water bladders, and easy to clean. The bottle is shaped from 2mm single walled titanium plate, very sturdy. Yet, mine comes in at 252 grams (rather than the 280 grams advertised). An absolute delight.
