The supply current runs well below 50 μA, providing very low self-heating—less than 0.1°C in still air. In addition, a shutdown function is provided to cut the supply current to less than 0.5 μA. Precision centi-grade temperature sensors TMP36 temperature sensor provide a voltage output that is linearly proportional to the Celsius (centigrade) temperature. The TMP36 do not require any external calibration to provide typical accuracies of ±1°C at +25°C and ±2°C over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range. No external calibration The low output impedance of the TMP36 and its linear output and precise calibration simplify interfacing to temperature control circuitry and ADCs. Review: If you need to measure temperature... - These are small, light, and reliable. The interface is simple, direct read, no serial circuit needed. The electronics are encapsulated, useful in dirty or humid conditions. The current draw is small. They are accurate, linear, and fairly quick to react to temperature changes. Plus that, the company offers a complete data sheet for the device. MAKE SURE YOU READ IT. There are a lot of misleading pieces of info around about the pin connections. If you hook Vcc and ground backwards, you will fry the device, burn your fingers, and possibly damage or destroy your Arduino / Pi / etc. Make sure to look at page 1 of the datasheet before you start.

**Q: Are they rohs compliant?**
A: The ones I received were marked TMP36GZ.  The "Z" indicates RoHS compliance.  So, yes they are compliant.  You can find the full data sheet at Analog Designs web site.

**Q: Are they shipped in silvery-grey static shielding bags?**
A: Mine were packed in a anti-static (silvery) zip-lock bag.  But they were plugged into a white foam block.  All worked within spec when I got them.  Two have since failed, but I think I shorted the leads while breadboarding with them. Not their fault.

**Q: How should this be wired?**
A: With the flat side facing you the wire to the left is the ground.  The wire in the middle is the output data wire and the wire to the right is 5v.

**Q: Dimensions of the sensor?**
A: The head of temperature sensor is  0.4cm x 0.5cm (Length x Width ) .
The whole length is 1.9cm

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ They Do Their Job

These seem to be quite accurate - maybe within 1 degree Fahrenheit. However, I have had a lot of trouble getting them to work properly when on the same power supply as a microchip. Even if I isolate them from the chip's power supply, they still show quite arbitrary values (like +- 10 degrees Fahrenheit). I haven't totally solved this mystery. To make things even weirder, it works when on the Arduino's power supply! I guess they just did a better job filtering power supply noise than I did.
