Review: I found this book to be informative but one thing ... - I found this book to be informative but one thing about it bugged me. They repeated several times that PEAP with MSCHAPv2 is a secure EAP/dot1x authentication method. Well, tell that to the pen testers who broke into our PEAP protected network. You can configure root certificate validation until you're blue in the face but that isn't going to stop users from bringing in their insecure Androids and iPhones unless you pay extra money for APs with MDM integration and "walled garden" support, or if you purchase a fancy NAC. This textbook is a comprehensive deep dive into wireless security and I highly recommend that network engineers add it to their library and read through it at least once. The chapters on EAP methods and key gen were worth the price of admission alone. Highlights: - Helpful diagrams and graphs included throughout the book - Delves more into the inner workings of the standards rather than the step-by-step CLI manuals that you typically find in a vendor specific program - Covers topics ranging from key generation techniques to L2 security audit tools to WIPS architecture. - Great amount of digital content included with the book, including packet samples, flashcards, quizzes, and more.
