Review: Solid basic vac packer! - Full disclosure here... I've used chamber vac sealers for the last 20 years. Dip type, chamber etc. I also own a vacmaster commercial chamber sealer at home. Now... I needed one for the cottage (the vacmaster is ~80lbs... not good for travelling). For sealing meats etc when deals are good. also for sousvide and other stuff. So.... This unit does the job fantastically. Great suction, solid seals and good duty cycle (i.e. 5-20 seals at a go). No issues so far and I'm about 100 seals in. Considering Anova and the other products I have from them (support etc)... I highly recommend. Does it have a holder for bags? no. Does it have an aux port? yes! Does it have a cutter? No. The seal process relies on you clipping down both sides with physical clips... GOOD choice Anova. Does it require proprietary (i.e. only from Anova) bags? No. In summary.... worth every penny.
