The lubricant will silence a squeak or loosen a brake fast. Some use it on the chain as well, but I've not tried that. I suspect it would not last long on a chain as its clear, very thin and spreads quickly which is a huge advantage for most applications. I carry one in my gravel bike kit and on my e-bike.
