We get down to 10 degrees here and a rental house I installed one in never had to turn on supplemental heat. But never a bad idea to have a source of supplemental heat. **Q: does it come with a remote or do I have to use my phone?** A: Yes, this does also come with a remote. **Q: What are the line sets made of** A: They are covered with loose insulation so I could not identify the material. The lines are copper at both ends. I do not want to remove the insulation and reduce efficiency, I installed this alone. The air handler is 9-10 feet above the ground and i fished the lines through a small crawlspace leaving the excess inside the cavity. The lines are very flexible and easy to work with. Also, the A/C is very quiet and has kept our house down to 65 degrees when it was 95 outside and sun beating on our house.
