When I do, I use my ankle brace and almost instantly the pain is gone. There are times when it doesn't seem to control the pain as well as others. But I would say 98% of the time it helps immensely and the other 2% not quite as much, but it still helps a lot. The first one I bought years ago is getting a little worn and I can't imagine going without it when I need it so I bought 2 more. One for me and one for my hubby.
