Brusho colors are not pure, i.e., each one has more than one color or shade of the color in it. The colors on the package to the left are good representatives of what you'll see when you use the powders and add water. Hope this helps.

Brusho is a unique medium used as watercolor. It can also be used with watercolor technique to create interesting underpaintings for dry pastels

Good morning, Richard,I'm afraid that while all Brusho colours are extremely vivid, some are prone to fading if exposed to direct sunlight for protracted periods of time. Q: I will order this soon and want to use them for the Painterly Days books which are for watercoloring, would this paints work ok?

It would work to mix a few grains with water and use as a liquid paint. But, the Main use for these Brusho's is to be sprinkled onto watercolor paper that has been wet and then the brusho crystals "explode" into gorgeous colors. The Painterly Days and other watercolor coloring books often have very tiny spaces and in my experience it would be hard to get that effect unless you spread the water over, say, a whole leaf and ignored all the tiny lines that make up the leaf. The lines would show through as texture. Good luck.
