An Honest Guide to Surviving the Prostate Cancer Racket
Dr. Mark Scholz and a patient have created an honest portrayal of how to survive the prostate cancer racket. Men need to understand that many urologists are surgeons. Men who do not research will discover that many urologists will tell the men that the gold standard treatment is the surgical removal of the prostate, a very dangerous major surgery. Some men die soon after the surgery or wish that they had died. Men can make appointments with radiation oncologists and with doctors who use other treatments. Dr. Scholz had a patient who had undergone 5 biopsies with a greedy urologist. Instead, Dr. Scholz used a color Doppler ultrasound. For the next 17 years, Dr. Scholz found no prostate cancer. Ralph Blum, the co-author, had scheduled to have cryoablation (freezing). When an assistant to the doctor explained all the things that could go wrong, Blum left. To make a good, informed decision, men need to read books, watch videos, and speak with other men who have had prostate cancer treatments.

Very helpful info
My friend who has stage 4 said the book was extremely helpful for him to understand his treatment options. He is chosen no chemo or surgery. Radiation and hormone therapy only. The most helpful drug (not in the book) has been ivermectin. He can pee again. No other drug has helped that he said. The doctor recommended the book and the ivermectin.

informed decisions are better decisions
It is so refreshing to find a publication by an expert that outlines options and then relies on the patient to select the option that best suites their lifestyle and goals. Rather than treat people like sheep, this author(s) treats you as someone who, with full information on a subject, can make a decision based on what is best for the individual patient. Thanks you for the information.

Best source of information
My husband is undergoing tests for Prostate cancer. It is a very frightening time. This book was the best and most honest source I have found so far. It makes you stop and realize that since this type of cancer is so slow growing that you have time to decide what course of treatment is right. The author is amazing!

Excellent informative book for those dealing with prostate issues.
I think this would be a great book for any man who is dealing with prostate issues, and in particular with the prospect or recent diagnosis of prostate cancer. Read this before you make any decisions about further treatment… It covers all the options and is super helpful, Written from the perspective of both a physician and a patient, giving you all angles that you may not get just from your doctor’s approach. Not to slight your doctor or your team, but often they have a biased approach according to which kind of direction they prefer to go, and are most adept in. Be your own best advocate, and then make your decisions!
