## Description

Clam shell vents are ideal for ventilation needs where a taller vent would foul lines or restrict crew movement. They work well as stern mounted ventilators for engine compartments and can be used for cabin ventilation with dorade boxes.

Review: 4” Clamshell Vent, with Pics - This is the 4” clamshell vent, in Marinco packaging, but displaying the Nicro Marine trademark. On the day I received it, the temperature was 100°f, and the PVC material was supple, but still maintained the original shape, admirably. My photos include an adjacent metric/SAE tape measure. The flexible material provides some variance. My application calls for a clamshell vent as a cover for a thru-deck, centerboard pennant, over-the-top block. For that purpose, it should work quite well. This is mostly to splashproof the installation rather than provide any airflow. I expect it will fit well with the rest of my deck hardware, and the price represented a great value.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Large Passive Clamshell Dimensions

The dimensions listed for the large passive clamshell are a tad misleading. I’m not sure where they are getting 11” from unless you are measuring the curvature of the shell. The true usable measurements are 7”L x 8”W x 3”H The clamshell is quality though, just a shame the measurements weren’t better presented.
