## Description

CNC Spoilboard Surfacing Router Bit, 1/4" Shank 1" Cutting Diameter, Carbide Insert Slab Flattening Router Bits Planing Bit Wood Planer Bit Woodworking Tools by BINSTAK - desertcart.com

Review: Quality Product for Surface Planning - Works really Great. I surface planed (8) 3' x 5' panels made from Douglas fir with no issues. I purchased this one because of the extra metal supporting each cutter. Ran the bit at 14500 rpm with no oscillation. None of the carbide inserts came loose and they show very little signs of wear. One of the things that would have made this even better is if they added a few extra carbide inserts just encase one was damaged or came off; to go along with the screws that were included.
Review: Good quality bit. No regrets - Great surfacing bit for my spoil board. I have resurfaced 4 times now and still just as sharp as the first time. Should last a long time with the four sided rotatable cutting edges. Nice quality bit

## Features

- 2-WING INSERT CNC ROUTER BIT: Shank: 1/4"; Cut Diameter: 1" ; Carbide Inserts: 12*12mm. 2-wing design, resulting in a more balanced tool while running.
- INDUSTRIAL GRADE CNC WOOD ROUTER BIT: Super-strength steel body with anti kickback design, 2 cutting blades.
- COST-EFFECTIVE INSERT BIT: The surfacing router bit utilizes 4-sided solid carbide inserts. All 4 edges of carbide inserts can be used, use a screwdriver to make other blade edge outside. Replace the carbide inserts when needed, instead of replacing the whole bit. Cost effective solution compared to brazed router bits and solid carbide spiral bits.
- This planer router bit is perfect for wood slabs flattening, resurface or plane the top surface of the spoilboard. Used on soft and hard woods, particle board, MDF, plywood compact panel, laminate, acrylic and etc.
- Use on CNC and other automatic routers as well as hand-held and table-mounted portable routers. Such as woodworking engraving machine, trimming machine, etc.

**Q: is there any manufacturer recommended speeds to use on a cnc?**
A: Short answer no. I would google about speeds and feeds. The spindle speed and the feed rate go hand and hand. It also controls chip load. The faster something spins the faster it will need to move while cutting. Most tools will only have a max rpm limit. This tool I would stay away from its cheap. The carbide quality is horrible. The insert pockets are sloppy.

**Q: How is the quality of this bit**
A: Really great quality! Great value for money

**Q: Anyone ever try using this like a drill bit into wood?...I go through 1" forsner bits like candy, and would love to be able to index the cutters**
A: I tried that on the CNC but didn't go very well. Whenever the bit is going just vertically into the the wood it burns it. I imagine it is because there is no angle on the inserts and it was made to cut from the sides only. For surfacing and milling it is amazing.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great bit, if you have the right router.
*by S***S on October 21, 2021*

The bit worked great, right until it warped. I have an older craftsman router and the bit would only go in the collet until about 3-4 mm of the shaft below the "insert in router to the line" line was still sticking out . I figured that would be sufficient if I was careful with the amount of pressure I put on the bit. I was wrong. It worked better than any other router I've used, right up until I pushed it too fast (was working with a small oak slab, so that did not help). The shaft warped a bit and developed a distinct vibration, becoming unsafe. I put it in a modern trim router where I could get it to the "insert in router to the line" line and tightening it. The vibration went away, but the bit was then too short to do what I needed. So, if you have an old Craftsman An likely other brands), this bit is not for you. A slightly shorter shank would make this bit MUCH better.
