Thule Stravan 13" MacBook Sleeve (3201839)

Thule is a Swedish company founded in 1942 and their first products were for Swedish fishermen. They grew to produce mostly products to transport sports equipment, as in bikes, kayaks and in 1997 became the largest producer of roof boxes. They have over a half century of experience making protective gear so one would expect that their computer cases would be not just a fashion accessory, but engineered for genuine protection, and this Stravan Sleeve doesn't disappoint. The fabric is a tightly woven material with a satin sheen finish that seems durable and is water resistant as well. The welt material around it's perimeter is a slightly coarser material that seems to have a corded center as extra padding against bumps and knocks. The inside of the sleeve is a very soft velvet-like material to prohibit inadvertent scratches from constantly sliding your laptop in and out. The zipper has very fine teeth and is sewn on in a manner that when unzipped naturally keeps the teeth flared out and away from the top opening slot for easier access and to avoid any scratches from the teeth. The walls of the sleeve are nicely padded with perhaps a half inch of thickness each so should provide a very secure protective covering when jostled inside a case or larger carrying bag. There is one exterior zippered compartment which is likewise lined with the same plush material and is large enough to hold an iPad or paperwork. There are two zipper head pulls so it can be closed and opened pulling either or both. The zipper pulls have a small loop lanyard with a blue rubberized top with an opening large enough for even a generous sized finger to hook through to facilitate opening easily without fumbling. The sleeve color is a charcoal gray so it's conservative enough for business use and is neutral enough for most tastes. The blue rubberized pulls seemed a little funky but it makes then easily visible even in low light situations and I got to like the color after the initial raised eyebrow. My MacBook Pro fits snugly but still with ample room. I personally bought another Thule hard sided, small attache case for my 13 inch Macbook about a year ago and absolutely love that case as well, though it's additional bulk did consume extra space when inside luggage, so I'm extremely happy to have a slimmer alternative now that still offers excellent protection. There are cheaper neoprene cases available for half the price, but honestly, after investing in a Macbook pro, it seems a no brainer to spend comparatively little extra to insure it has a long and happy life. Very impressed and satisfied with this sleeve.

The Thule Stravan is a very well crafted and designed product. It is an entirely functional product that presents a slim efficient means of carrying your MacBook pro 13" or any similarly sized product. The Stravan sleeve fits my Retina 13" MacBook Pro perfectly with almost no additional room. If you plan to use this with this with a different type of computer be sure to compare it against the dimensions of the MB Pro (12.35 inches x 8.62).The laptop is protected by an incredibly soft interior lining whereas the exterior fabric is tough and durable. This product is great for those that carry their laptop in a business brief or backpack. However, it is important to understand that it does not provide any substantive protection against falls. This is simply a two pocket sleeve with the main compartment for your computer and a slightly smaller pocket on the front that has enough space for an iPad or other type of item. The zippers on this product are also incredibly sturdy.

While it's billed as a MacBook sleeve, this Thule piece works really well with my HP Spectre x360, which is similar to a MacBook in size.The lining, present in both the main pocket and the accessory pocket, is the softest I've ever encountered. The aluminium of the computer's shell is well protected against scratches, and it slips in and out easily. The padding in the sleeve surrounds the computer and keeps it secure.The zippers work well. The pulls on the main zippers are a little goofy, but they seem functional enough.The fabric of the sleeve is water repellant and relatively slick. It's tightly woven and clearly of good quality. The company's name is silkscreened on at the bottom right. Time will tell whether that silkscreening holds or rubs off. For now, it looks great.Overall, this is much nicer than the Case Logic case that I used to use. It is well finished and provides a good basic level of protection for a slim 13.3 inch screen ultrabook-style computer.

Great sleeve. I have always use a neoprene sleeve for my retina Macbook Pro, but I like this sleeve a lot better. It has a light canvas/denim feel on the outside, and the inside has lots of padding without being bulky. The corners are well-padded, and the lining (in the main compartment and front pocket) is very soft and protective. The front pocket fits an iPad Air 2 / 9.7" Pro very easily with the Apple OEM silicone cover and smart cover. Also fits the 9.7" iPad Pro with the Apple silicone case and Smart Keyboard attached. Alternatively, you could use the front pocket for your chargers and cords. The zippers on this sleeve glide smoothly, and the overall sleeve has a solid. Great choice for a MAcBook Pro sleeve.

Very nice MacBook sleeve that's very padded. I replaced a much thinner felt case with this Thule case. I use the case predominately in my Timbuk2 bag, so I rarely take it out and use it as a stand-alone product. So a ton of padding/protection isn't crucial to me. But this case has a lot of protection without adding a lot of bulk. And I really like the zipped from pocket. I use that for my mini iPad. So both of those pieces of equipment are then inside of my Timbuk2 bag with a lot of protection. And the few times where I want to downsize and just take the sleeve, it works very well for that also.

Bought this as a second laptop case. Looks very smart, lovely soft plush interior that will definitely protect my laptop when I drop it. Only slight niggle is that the zip pulls on it are made of very cheap plastic. For something which is otherwise quite professional looking, the bright blue toggles feel a bit naff, like they're made for people with neuropathy and difficulty gripping normal zips or something - I have an old Thule case of slightly different design and it has smart metal zips.

I spend a lot of time looking for the perfect case for my 13-inch MacBook Air . This is a well made, lightweight sleeve that offers excellent protection. Nice if you already have a carryon or backpack for the MacBook.

Thule stravan is the perfect sleeve. That's it. Go for it. The fit is perfect and the material used is premium. Price for the product is spot on.
