Can you verify if it is the XT version? If so, you would purchase the Thule 9036XTS if silver color or 9036XTB if black color. Regretfully the XT add on version will not work with old 9034 versions. Amazon should still have some 9036 (non XT) versions still in stock. **Q: I understand that this is for a 2" hitch. No question there. However what isn't clear of if this add-on fit with attaching to the t2 pro xt 1.5" base** A: No, original bike rack must be t2 pro xt 2" base. **Q: will it handle the heavy electric bikes?** A: The 2 bike rack is rated for 60 pounds, so I would think that the 4 bike setup (2 bike add-on) would hold maximum of 120#. So, the answer is that it will probably handle an electric bike or two but no more than 120# max. Do not take my word for this. I researched these for literally years before buying one but now that I have one, I absolutely love it. It is so easy to get the bikes on and off and no problems with the fat tire electric bikes. You can lower it to make it easier to access my liftgate but with the addon and a couple heavy electric bikes, it is way too heavy to do that. You can lock them if you wont but I only do that if I need to stop somewhere and the bikes are on there. The mechanism for attaching to your hitch is awesome.
