Lookin to install in my travel trailer** A: no, you will need a separate detector for that. LP gas is detected near the floor of a RV. Carbon Monoxide rises and is detected near the ceiling. My Travel Trailer had a carbon monoxide detector near the bed room on the wall near the ceiling, a LP detector in the kitchen near the floor and a smoke detector on the ceiling between the kitchen and living area. **Q: This detector cannot be used if temperatures are below 40f or above 100f. what detectors are available that can be used below 40f and above 100f?** A: Thank you for your question. Our alarms are manufactured to be used in the home, in living areas. Most homes would be inconsistent with temperatures below 40 or higher than 100 degrees. If you're using this in a camper/trailer etc- you should keep it in your home when the camper/trailer is in storage not being used. Consistent extreme temps can affect the sensors, components & battery life. **Q: is this detector certified for use in rv's ?** A: I see RV's use unconditioned CO detectors that aren't temperature controlled. I wouldn't use it in an RV. **Q: Can I use it as a portable co detector? False description. Do not buy. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not Loud Enough *by B***R on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on 19 March 2018* This detector fits the mounting screw pattern of the unit I am replacing and that helps avoid drilling yet another set of holes in the wall.Unfortunately, this unit, like most now for sale, is only 85 dB and there is a good chance that it will not wake you up if you are sleeping in another room. It protects your hearing, but is not as loud as units from past years. I do not know what they are thinking. Traveling on subways to and from work probably exposes you to more hearing damage than an occasional false alarm. If a real alarm occurs, you want something loud to get your attention.
