Review: Wow. Amazing sound, but read this BEFORE you buy! (No audiophile jargon) - I’m not an audio engineer, and I don't know what "imaging" or "linear frequency response" means in the real world. I just wanted a great pair of wired headphones for listening to music, watching movies, and casual gaming at my desk without spending a fortune. After using the HD 560S for over 6 months, here is an honest breakdown. The Sound (The Good Stuff) If you are coming from cheap earbuds or standard Bluetooth headphones, these will blow your mind. The Clarity: You will hear things in your favorite songs you literally never knew were there. Background acoustic guitars, subtle breaths from the singer, or a random triangle in the back—sound great. The "Space": Because these are "open-back" headphones, the sound doesn't feel trapped inside your skull. It feels like the band is playing in the room right in front of you. A slight, expected negative....As they are open-back, they leak sound: The outside of the earcups is literally a metal mesh grille. If you turn the volume up, the person sitting next to you can hear your music clear as day. They don't block noise: You can hear everything happening around you. If your roommate is vacuuming, you will hear it. Do not buy these for commuting, noisy offices, or library sessions. These are strictly for a quiet room at home. Gaming & Movies: Absolutely incredible. Because the sound feels so wide, playing games like Call of Duty or Valorant, CS2 feels like a cheat code. You can pinpoint exactly which direction footsteps are coming from. Movies sound cinematic and grand. Build & Comfort Feel: To be honest, they feel a bit like cheap plastic out of the box. They aren't luxury leather, but they are incredibly lightweight. Fit: The ear pads are a nice, soft velour material. The clamping force is a little tight at first (it squeezed my head a bit), but it loosens up after about a week of use. Now, I can wear them for a 4-hour gaming session with my glasses on and totally forget they are there. 🔌 Do you need a special amplifier (Amp)? The short answer is No! They plug right into my PC motherboard and my laptop, and they get plenty loud. You don't need to spend extra money on fancy audio equipment to enjoy these. (Note: The cable it comes with is a bit long, which can be a plus or a negative). The long answer is, they do sound louder, (if that's what you're looking for) with a DAC/amp, As a sidenote, If you are listening on a PC, I recommend getting a free software equalizer such as Equalizer APO and pair it with the Peace Equalizer. These both help fine tune the sound on the headphones to get exactly the right listening experience from your headphones.
Review: H560s Can do it all - Gaming, Movies and Music. Without costing a fortune. - As someone who is a casual gamer, enjoys watching movies and listening to music, I wanted a pair of headphones that would provide good sound quality, as well as being comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I had done a lot of research when looking at headphones to buy, the main 2 I saw were the DT990 Pro (Closed Back) and these 560s (Open Back). As someone who had never had open back headphones, I never really understood what it meant by a wider soundstage and feeling airier. After using these for a few months I must say I was blown away, the open back style does give a great feeling that the sound is around you, rather than the sound coming from next to your ears, the headset is comfy to wear, light and well adjustable. There is some clamping at first, but this is to be expected, and they will eventually loosen, or you can rest them on something for a few hours to stretch the headband. Overall, they do everything I need, prodividing good bass, nice treble, and generally being a great pair of headphones for movies, games and music. The price is great, I got mine on sale for £100 but I would argue that even when not on sale they are still worth their money. I have not tried them on a mobile device, but straight to my PC they work well without the need of an AMP. The cable is a decent enough size, the headset itself seem sturdy whilst being lightweight, so it seems to tick all the boxes. If you are planning to purchase these headphones, I would suggest looking at audio software to use to better ehance the sound. There are simple guides online (I use Peace with a preset I found) and it enhances the sound, but straight out of the box they're great sounding. The downside is that being open back if you are in a busy area they will not block out the external sound, but this is not an issue for me but is something to consider.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what would be the best way to go about cleaning the HD 560S padding?**
A: I use a small amount of mild soap and warm water. Use a micro fiber cloth to gently wipe clean and leave over night to dry.

**Q: Can you get a replacement coiled cable for the HD 560s, if so where?**
A: I just wanted to say for future buyers - "As the cable is not removable the answer is probably no, but has it occurred to you to ask Sennheiser? They do have customer service you know." - This guy is wrong, they are designed to be removable, I have replaced the cable myself for a shorter one. I got it from Amazon, "1.5m Replacement Audio upgrade Cable For Sennheiser HD595 HD598 HD558 HD518 Headphones"

**Q: Are these compatible with samsung phones with usb c connection?**
A: Yes as long as you use an adaptor (usbc to 3.5mm)

**Q: I'd like to use these for running, can that work if I buy a shorter cable for them? Where can I get a (e.g. 1.2m) cable?**
A: I don't know why people keep saying this - "The cable is captive and cannot be removed from the headphones." - but you can replace the cable, easily, you need to twist it, it locks in. As for running, these headphones would be ruined by your moisture, they are designed for an armchair, not running.
