High Quality Battery
The FIOS box began to alarm and show a red light for battery replacement after about 2.5 years on the original battery. This doesn't seem like a long life for the original battery, but we have had a number of power failures that may have weakened the battery. I have not had this battery long enough to evaluate it in the FIOS box, but I have two identical Power Sonic batteries in the UPS that powers my computer, and they have lasted for years with no failure yet. Power Sonic appears to make a quality battery that will not fail prematurely, a complaint that some Amazon customers have with cheaper batteries advertised for FIOS. This battery may be available for less money elsewhere, but free shipping of this heavy item from Amazon makes this a reasonable deal. This is a 1270 battery with F1 terminals rated at 12V 7 AMP, a standard AGM type that has many uses for backup, and it fits perfectly into the FIOS box. If you are shopping around for other sources, look at stores that advertise batteries for emergency lighting. They tend to be less expensive than batteries advertised for replacement in a UPS.UPDATE - June 2021This battery lasted more than 3 years and was replaced with the same type Power Sonic battery. After about a year on the replacement battery, the FIOS box alarmed with the bad battery light. I disconnected the wires from the battery and then reconnected it. This stopped the alarm, which remained quiet for a few months. Now the box alarms every few months and I go through the same disconnect-reconnect procedure. It's as if the electrical connection with the battery goes bad after some time. I had a similar problem with Power Sonic batteries in the UPS. One of the battery terminals became so hot that it burned the plastic insulation on the wire. I'm not sure if this is a valid commentary on Power Sonic batteries, but try the disconnect-reconnect trick if the box alarms. As of now, I will continue to buy Power Sonic batteries.

Fits my FIOS cabinet fine
Fits fine. No idea on longevity yet, will change review if it fails before 24 months.I have one of the earlier FIOS installations, no way to get rid of the beep when a battery fails even though my FIOS and other networking gear is on a big UPS - so I don't need the functionality (voice-only for the first few hours of a power outage) this battery enables.

Excellent Battery, worth the extra cost, but make sure the one you get is fresh!
You pay a bit more for PowerSonic batteries but it's money well spent. In my alarm system, they last 3-5 years. My last order was from Volt Depot, on Amazon. EXTREMELY pleased with the price, promptness, packaging and the freshness of the battery. Note that other sellers, like the one beginning with a "J", sells out-dated PowerSonic batteries! The date is coded like this: 04307, which means it was manufactured April 30, 2017.

Good price and better value than having Fios replace the battery.
Good price and easy to install. Arrived fast and in good shape. Fios wants 100 bucks to replace your battery. You can buy this and do it yourself and save 75 or 80 bucks.

Did not last a year
DO NOT BUY THIS BATTERY!!!I bought one of these batteries for my home Fios system at the end of May 2018. It is the end of February 2019 and the battery is failing already. The battery comes with a 1 year warranty (which is one of the reasons I purchased it). I contacted the Amazon seller and was sent a message back saying:"Your order is past the 30 day return which means it is no longer eligible for refund. There is a 12 month warranty, please send the items to the address below so it can be tested and replaced. The item must be sent at your expense using USPS Priority Flat Rate (large items i.e. batteries) or which ever method is more cost effective (small items i.e. remotes). If the item is found to be defective we will replace the item and cover the shipping cost for the new item. If the item is tested and found not to be defective then the item must returned to the buyer at the buyer's expense. Any items in our possession for longer than 30 days will be disposed of."Ok... the flat rate USPS box is $20. I paid $19.00 for the battery. I am not going to pay another $20 to send it and there is not definite guarantee that they will replace it. Plus... I can buy a new battery for $18! Crazy! Please be aware of the warranty and the fact that this battery will not even keep a charge for a year! The sad thing is my power has not even gone out in the past year, so it has not even been used for it to be discharged. Buyer beware!!!!
