Review: highly recommended. quiet, well made, effective, very adjustable speeds. - I absolutely love this fan. I bought it a year ago to replace my tower fan and it's still going strong. It feels very well made, solid and thoughtfully designed. I use it in my bedroom mainly - I open the skylight and put this in the window facing outward on full speed with the door closed before bed and it helps clear out the hot air from the day. Then I place it so it is directed towards me in my bed while I am sleeping. It is very quiet on the low/medium settings, but like any fan it is quite loud when on full blast. I wouldn't sit in it full blast though as it is too powerful. It seems to move more than just the stream of air in front of it, which is the design. I move it downstairs while I'm working on hot days and I love how portable it is and that I can set it to the perfect speed so it isn't annoying at all - (it has a continuous speed setting, without set levels so you can fine tune). If i need any more fans i wouldn't hesitate to spend on this one again. definitely worth the cost.
Review: 633 DC is awesome!! let me tell you all about it - I got the 633DC, this is a great fan,. It's a little bigger than I expected to be but that's a good thing,. it's pretty much silent at the low speeds and it does get a little bit noisy at the highest speed what is really not that bad. I made a video to actually show you guys exactly how quiet and how loud it gets,. even on the highest setting I really don't have to have my TV turned up too much louder than normal to be able to listen to my TV,. the motor is pretty much silent on this thing so you're really just hearing the blades pushing and cutting through the air as they spin so it's a little quieter than most fans,. any fan where the blades are spinning at a high speed will get a little bit noisy though I mean that's just going to happen so I don't know why some people are complaining. if you position this in your room correctly it'll move air around your room like you wouldn't believe and it'll circulate your air around the entire room as advertised. if you don't position it in your room correctlt it's not going to work as good as it could so positioning is very very important, Get it right and you'll be amazed at how much cooler your room feels with this around half power maybe 60% power, at those speeds it pushes the air around a great and it's not even that noisy, around 50 or 60% it just feels like some nice background noise which will block out a lot of The unwanted noise from things happening outside or other people in your house,. I can still have my TV at a pretty low listening volume until I get around 70% or higher on this van and at that point I might need to turn the TV up just a little bit but not too much. but I would say this is about 15 or 20% bigger than the other medium air circulators I've had in the past,. I had a older vornado and unfortunately it took a pretty bad full one day and something happened to the motor when it hit the ground and we had to get rid of it,. it was great until that happened, after that I I bought this lasko air circulator fan that look just like a vornado design because it was dirt cheap on sale and I figure it must be just as good ,. It's always vibrated and rattled and the motor shaft it's still had a lot of play in it which was I think the reason that rattled and made so much noise and vibrated all the time it was a very noisy fan even on the lowest setting because of those things but I used it for a good six maybe seven years, it cooled the room okay but nowhere near as good as this thing or the old vornado. I noticed it was really getting worse on the rattling and shaking and vibrating so I said you know it's time to get something else so I got this and so far I am extremely happy bottom line though this fan is a beast and it's so nice to have this variable speed control or you can set the set the power exactly where you want it you don't have high medium and low you have you know 5% or 10% or 12% or 20% or 90% power or wherever you want to set it exactly to where you would like it. As long as this thing ends up being reliable in last many years I know it's a little bit of expensive but man it's totally going to be worth it,. Is this thing last 10 plus years I think I'll be pretty happy with that, it's amazing that these things have a 10 year warranty,. my understanding is the DC motor that this band has is a really really high end loader manufactured by a really grapes motor making company I guess you would say, I guess this company makes fans forserver power supply and server power supply will run 24 hours a day for years and years and years never being turned off so I'm going to assume this must be a really reliable motor in this thing. I can actually remember the name of the company that is supposedly making these motors but I know it's a very good motor making company. and supposedly this thing saves 80% more electricity over a regular fan which is very nice and I know a lot of these DC models had a external power supply which a lot of people didn't like what this particular model of the power supply is built into the fan itself. all I can say is awesome things I hope you guys enjoy the long review sorry it's a little bit long but I'm very happy and impressed with this thing.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How many watts?**
A: At full chooch 40 watts, on lowest setting 1 watt. This is measured with a Killawatt meter. However, the lowest setting is almost pointless, it's more like a "look how slow we can go with PWM!" setting. Set to the lowest usable setting it pulled 4 watts from the wall. For comparison my old Model 180 Compact is also a 7" fan and pulls 87 watts on high and 27 on low, although low on the Model 180 is substantially more airflow than the 530. For my scenario where I use the fan for sleeping it would take roughly 8 years for the 530 to 'pay for itself in electricity savings' verses keeping the 180, and the 180 is a MUCH better fan.

**Q: If the power goes out will the fan come back on by itself when the power is restored?  (I want to use it with a smart outlet)**
A: I just got the 633DC version of this fan.  As long as the dial is not set to 'Off', the fan starts spinning again after I plug it back in.  I, too, plan to use it with a smart outlet.

**Q: does the 683 dc medium have a power brick**
A: I called Vornado about the 633DC yesterday, to determine if it had a power brick (the rep said it did NOT...the power supply is inside the wider base of the 133DC, the 533DC and the 633DC fans, all of which are similar in design, just differ in size). I own four of the 533DCs, so this makes sense (& they don't have the power brick). However, the 683DC is a pedestal model; it's on a stand. It DOES have a power brick. You can see this in photos of reviews on this model. I think it's confusing that 4 Vornado fans are listed/sold together on one page here without definitive info on which ones have external power bricks & which don't.

**Q: Has anyone used this for camping with a battery unit? I'm wondering how many mAh this uses per night?**
A: This would use 2280 mAh in a 12 hour period

I absolutely love this fan. I bought it a year ago to replace my tower fan and it's still going strong. It feels very well made, solid and thoughtfully designed. I got the 633DC, this is a great fan,. It's a little bigger than I expected to be but that's a good thing,. it's pretty much silent at the low speeds and it does get a little bit noisy at the highest speed what is really not that bad.
