Review: Cable end proves easy to damage. - UPDATE: My original review is below. I've increased my rating to 5-Stars because of the stellar customer service exhibited by Cable Matters. Although I did have an issue, as I said in my original review, I was unsure if the product itself was at fault. Cable Matters contacted me soon after my review offering to replace the product at no charge. When I accepted the offer, they shipped a new cable immediately. Since I had damaged the original cable, I did what I'd normally NOT do and attempted to damage the replacement cable in the same way as the original cable. I found the cable ends to be VERY solidly built and able to withstand substantial lateral pressure without the slightest movement within the housing. The cable has worked flawlessly for over a month since I received the replacement. This is the kind of service that gains my respect and loyalty in a product. ANY product can be damaged or defective. Having once been involved in quality control in an earlier profession, I can say that without reservation. It's how the company responds to the damage or defect that speaks to its integrity. Review: Unlike many things in life, This cable does what its supposed to do - Excellent - This DisplayPort Cable was received in perfect, brand new condition as advertised. Cable has a heavy, high quality casing and the connectors are solid. I'm very pleased with the price (~ $15) and this product will last a long time. Usage I've connected two different Dell Laptops (Precision M6400 and Lattitude E6410) to my Samsung TV. In both cases, the TV display immediately mirrored the laptop screen's display. Just had to do a bit of work to get the audio to go through the DisplayPort Cable to the TV instead of my laptop speakers. Since I figured it out (took 2 mins), I'll share: Windows 7: I only had to right click the volume control at the bottom right and select "Playback Devices". From there, I changed the Default device from "Speakers" to "Digital Audio (S/PDIF)" ... and back to speakers once I unplugged. Performance: Video is sharp. You may need to adjust your TV settings to ensure the video doesn't run off the edge of the TV. Because it is digital, the Audio sounds much better going through the DisplayPort Cable into the TV and from the TV to my Receiver using HDMI than it did going through the laptop headphone port to Left/Right RCA jacks into the Receiver. Not surprising, but very noticable. iTunes never sounded so good! Anyhow - Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

This DisplayPort Cable was received in perfect, brand new condition as advertised. Cable has a heavy, high quality casing and the connectors are solid.
