Pretty good for "iPod/MP3/CD player" THATS ALL!!!
I saw that this cable was for use with a ipod or other portable media player. I figured it would work excellent for connecting my laptop to an analog mixer i have, but there was a problem with this... if you are looking to use this with anything that is running more voltage through it then an ipod or something like that it has a VERY noticeable hum. I didn't even notice at first, but i heard something humming and i was like "where the hell is this humming coming from" so i started unplugging things one by one from my mixer and when i got to this cable the hum dropped out as soon as I pulled the cable.I tried this cable with my ipod and a few other "LOW POWER" devices and it works GREAT for that, no hum, very clear sound and you don't really need to add any gain to the channel either. This cable is excellent for taking a STEREO signal and turning it into a MONO signal to flow into your mixer or PA with XLR inputs.I only gave it 4 starts because it's not very flexable... while this is a great cable for ipods and other small devices it does NOT work very well with laptops or other medium powered devices without giving a pretty annoying hum. The hum is not extremely loud, and isn't really notice while music is playing back, but with complete silence it is very noticeable. You can use it... but there are much better ways of getting a laptop into a mixer then this. For iPOD or other low power devices = BUY IT!For laptops or other medium power devices = DON'T BUY THIS!

Works perfectly for my use with a Tascam 70D to Canon C100
My specific use for this cable is to connect the line out on a Tascam 70D mixer/recorder, to an XLR input on a Canon C100. For that, it's exactly what i neededBuild qualityFeels solid, not the beefiest cable i own, but really as beefy as it needs to be. The thickness of the cable is adequate for such a length and i don't detect any interference. The connectors also both feel fairly well made and not flimsy.Right angle vs Strait connectorDepends on your specific use and in my case the right angle is much preferred. Depends on how the cable may be bumped/pushed/etc... The angle connector is flat on this cable, so it works very well up against any flat surface(like if you pressed it up against a wall) I can also imagine if you're using a mixer inside a field bag, an angle connector would likely be a better idea (obviously depends on the bag)Length5' is just right for my use, i originally got the 10' but it left too much slack. The upside to the shorter cable is that you can get just about any variation of xlr cable to extend it if needed.

Another great adapter cable for my go bag
Delivers a very hot signal to an xlr input from a 1/8 inch jack without much hiss or hum. I use this to patch an additional iPad to a mini mixer that I use to DJ. The 1/8th end of the jack will crackle if it is moved so it must be set up in a position that is stable and unlikely to be hit. If you are looking for super clean sound for recording or other hi fidelity purposes, you would be better of with a signal converter with a high quality preamp, but this is a great low cost alternative for live audio. It's a jack worth adding to your go bag of emergency connectors.

Generally works for me
This adaptor feels high quality.I'm using this to connect my iPhone to a built-in church sound system. I've found that for just playing audio it works like a charm and is very clear.Unfortunately I can't seem to use it when trying to connect my iPhone (or iPad) to a projector via the VGA adaptor; as soon as the projector is connected there is very noticeable feedback on the sound system.

Use this for my in ear monitoring
I'm a drummer and I use this cable to hook up a metronome to my in ears. I plug this cable into my monitoring pack and then i can have the house feed as well a feed from my iphone ( to get the metronome). Hopefully this makes sense and is helpful.
