Your wax/polish will do no harm but is unnecessary and could compromise the product's properties. The key is preparation, make sure the paintwork is clay barred or T-cut before using the ceramic wax spray. This is an excellent product, a good DIY substitute for professional detailing. **Q: Cleaned my car with showroom shine can I put this on top of that?** A: No. Ceramic hybrid waxes like this shouldn't be applied over the top of anything. In fact you should strip off all old wax with detergent, then clay bar the surface, before applying 2 coats of 53342. After that, you can mostly clean the car with just water and a microporous cloth, or use a neutral plain detergent (*not* wash & wax). I've not had to apply more coats yet, after 6m outside. I wouldn't go back to traditional wax now. It's more work to do the preparation before the first 2 coats, but a lot less work after that, and it lasts far better. Also you can apply this to all surfaces - plastic, glass, rubber, chrome etc - without any of the dusting and hazing you get with wax. It's a very thin, transparent coating. **Q: Do you also apply on the windows, or just the car panels?** A: Can apply on both. Word of warning though. Don’t apply more than about 50cm square area before buffing off. Leaving it on too long makes it really really hard to buff out! Like lots of swearing hard! **Q: Would this protect diamond cut wheels** A: Hi Dan Whilst I don’t have diamond cut wheels I’ve found this is excellent on paint, lacquer, glass and plastics so as I’d imagine DC wheels are lacquered this would work perfectly. Unfortunately over the three years I've owned it lot's of the kids around here seem to use it as a target when playing games out in the road. It had developed quite a few deep scratches and dings just standing outside the house. so I decided to repair it. Even though the original ceramic coat was miraculously holding up I of course broke through it to do the repairs. The original coating cost a fortune and I was reluctant to pay out this sort of money again, so I was looking for alternatives. One big problem is that I don't have a garage or any type of shelter so doing a proper re-coating would be difficult as it needs to cure for twenty four hours out of the weather. I had heard a lot of negative and positive reports on this type of quick drying short term ceramic impregnated polish but thought even though it is relatively expensive I would give it a try. I watched a lot of YouTube videos and spent a lot of time preparing the paintwork before as in the positive reviews. It was a lot easier to apply than the negative reviews suggested as long as you keep a damp micro fibre handy to deal with the streaks and the result is quite impressive. Now I don't expect it to last as long as the the original coating but it definitely has been a lot easier to clean as the dirt just washes off with a hose like the original coating. In fact when I got my new company van recently I immediately gave that a coating before the paintwork had a chance to get dirty. I expect I will have to do it again to both vehicles next year but it should get me through the winter and I have plenty left as you don't use a lot.
