## Overview

The SilverStone ML08B-H is a premium Mini-ITX slim desktop case engineered for high-performance builds in a mere 12-liter footprint. It supports graphics cards up to 13 inches, features tool-less drive cages for quick assembly, and boasts independent airflow channels for CPU and GPU cooling. With flexible vertical or horizontal orientation and an optional carrying handle, it’s perfect for professionals and gamers who demand power, portability, and style in one compact chassis.

## Description

Based on the excellent RAVEN Z RVZ02 chassis, the Milo ML08 is a super slim Mini-ITX console case with highly capable accommodations. With a volume of only 12 liters, this case is small yet easy to assemble when compared to other slim cases in the same class. There is plenty of room for a powerful graphics card up to 13 inches in length while tool-less drive cages make assembly quicker than ever. With clever space utilization and engineering, two major heat sources are separated via the chassis' main chamber so CPU and graphics card can each have their own airflow path. Despite its diminutive size, the ML08 is a remarkably versatile case that can be used anywhere from being a compact desktop workstation (in vertical orientation) to a living console or HTPC (in horizontal orientation). There are even optional models of ML08 with integrated handle, making them effortlessly portable and perfect for any slim PC build.

Review: Versatile, well-made, and well-engineered! - One of the smartest airflow designs I've ever seen that also economizes space and allows for ease of travel. The two side vents are located on the top left and bottom right, respectively, of the case, with a riser card for the PCIe slot. What you're left with is the top left vent exposing the CPU and PSU fans, and the bottom right vent open for the GPU. With the new Z170 ITX motherboards out there, you can really max this chassis out! Power: You can fit an SFX-L (lengthened) power supply easily into this chassis. You may want to have extra SATA and Molex cables on hand to run power to each component, as space will be a little limited. Hard Drives: There are two snap-in-place slots for 2.5" hard drives in the main compartment (as the graphics card has its own compartment with separate airflow). There is a cable pass-through (hole) between each compartment that allows you to mount a third hard drive far at the back of the video card compartment as long as you get a reasonably-sized video card. And I believe if you opt out of an ODD, you can mount a fourth one as well (check back with me later, once I verify). Slim Optical Drive: The optical slot is tool-less, which is nice, except the front bezel cover plate doesn't fit well in the case. I could not get the Blu-Ray drive to open using the included ODD cover. It was jammed. I just used a different bezel and it works fine, though not as pretty as I like. I have an ultra-slim (9.5mm) drive in the ODD slot, which now leaves a 3mm gap between the drive and the opening. I find this minorly irritating, since this provides exhaust for the air intakes. Also, get a Syba SATA to Mini SATA Cable with Molex Power Adapter if you plan on using the optical drive. I forgot to grab one originally, but it's necessary for the SilverStone PSU's. Video Card: You can fit any card in here. Seriously the space is huge. My GTX 970 looks tiny in the video slot. There is also a little rubber clamp that supports the back end of your card so that it doesn't bend in the middle. Also, when you open the video card compartment, you get access to the bottom of your motherboard, where the m.2 slot is often found. This also allows for easy installation of the CPU cooler. Airflow: A++!!! I can't tell you how thrilled I am at how silent I can keep this running. Each vent is over fan intakes blowing directly onto your mobo/GPU/CPU/PSU. And each vent is covered by an easily removable/cleanable dust filter!! Way to go, SilverStone!! CPU Cooler Height: This one is tricky. The website says that it can have up to a 58mm cooler, but I was able to fit in a cooler up to 65mm. I have a 95w TDP processor, which can get REALLY hot, so I really couldn't skimp on the cooler. This is what I did, and I recommend it for anyone else who buys this case: Get a DEEPCOOL GABRIEL CPU Cooler and replace the fan with a Noctua 12cm iPPC 2000rpm fan . I've found that this JUST barely fits into this case cleanly. I can now overclock my CPU and keep my RAM and chipset ultra-cool with the oversized fan. I tried all sorts of CPU fans, but the Noctua industrial 2000rpm fan really was the perfect mix of quietude and cooling power. Anything less powerful wouldn't be able to handle my CPU and anything more powerful is too loud. Cons: As I mentioned, the optical drive cover has a poor fit for the case and gets jammed. But that only bugs me because I happen to use an ultra-slim drive. The feet are useless. They fall off any time you move the tower around. The chassis comes with rubber feet for placing it horizontally, but you would not be able to set anything on top, since the vents are really necessary for the airflow. Still, that's really all I can gripe about. I saw pictures of some guy who fit a liquid cooler into the case, but I seriously doubt that's a feasible solution for most consumers with this case. You'd have to do some major rigging to get that to work. Pros: Airflow. Well-engineered for versatility. Great design. SOLID craftsmanship. Great for gaming or home theater use. Here is my rig. I built this with mostly top-of-the-line components as of February, 2016: Motherboard: Gigabyte LGA1151 Intel Z170 Mini-ITX DDR4 Motherboard CPU: Intel Core I7-6700K 4.00 GHz 8M Processor Cooler: DEEPCOOL GABRIEL CPU Cooler / Noctua 12cm iPPC 2000rpm fan combo PSU: SilverStone 500W SFX-L RAM: Vengeance LPX 32GB DDR4 DRAM 2400MHz C14 Memory Primary SS Drive: Samsung 950 PRO-Series 256GB M.2 Internal SSD Secondary SS Drive: Samsung 850 EVO 1 TB 2.5-Inch SSD Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB FTW Graphics Card
Review: Good case overall with a cheap handle. - This is a great case overall. I like the form factor a lot. I need a small case that I can carry around when traveling, meanwhile I need the case to be power enough to house a full size GPU. This case is one of its kind, the only option I found that has a carrying handle. I'd think many people share the same need for this kind of case, somehow, this is the only product you can find. On the low lights, you need to have some good cable management when using this case. I'm an unorganized person, I wouldn't care about cable management at all normally. But I realized that if I don't manage the cables, I can't close this case. This is really not a drawback of the product, it's just a trade off you will have to make using this case. Other than this, there are 2 things I don't like. first, the case comes with bunch of screws. They look quite similar to each other, but slightly different. You're supposed to use certain screws at certain places, but the manual isn't clear about that. The manual refers to different kinds of screws using incomprehensible codes. I mixed those screws with screws came with other parts. I thought some screws came with the heat sink were the ones I was supposed to use to attach the handle. I almost damaged the case by screwing the them in by force. Had different kinds of screws been packaged in different bags and properly labelled, I wouldn't have made this mistake. Also, I don't like the handle. The case itself looks sturdy and high quality, but the handle is made in plastic. The machine, once fully assembled, can be quite heavy. I dare not carry this case using the handle and walk long distance, I'm afraid that it could break. Plus, the grip of handle has an impractical design. It's kinda sharp and very uncomfortable to hold. I say the handle is more of a decoration than of any practical use.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how big is this compared to an Xbox 360?**
A: Hello,

The SilverStone ML08B-H is 14.96" (W) x 3.43" (H) x 14.57" (D)

An Xbox 360 is 12.15" (W) x 3.27 (H) x 10.15" (D)

**Q: Does this case come with an optical drive?**
A: No, but it has room for a laptop-style slot loading drive.

**Q: Could i please install an evga 500 watt w1 80+ power supply? product dimension lxwxh ... 5.5 x 5.9 x 3.4 inches**
A: Unfortunately, this only SFX footprint power supplies. Any SFX or SFX-L power supply should work though, but due to them not being a super common form-factor, they do tend to be more expensive than their ATX counterparts.

**Q: Can you use this to make your own game console**
A: Exactly what I did with a GTX1080, for a Windows 10 + Steam game console. Is beautiful and looks nice on my entertainment center below my TV. It's a little deep for a standard entertainment center shelf, so be aware you may need a larger shelf, or a bottom shelf if it's deeper. It's about the depth of my 5.1 audio amp.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great case within limitations.
*by E***. on July 18, 2016*

The ML08B is the best console-style PC chassis there is on the market today. It has all the features you expect out of a modern case, with multiple hard drive trays, SFX and SFX-L PSU support, and a fairly easy to work with design. That said, it isn't perfect, and there are a few things that are not so great about this case. First, the side panels are held on with regular screws, and not thumbscrews. Not a big deal, but it is a bit frustrating to have to get a screwdriver if you ever want to get inside the PC. Not only that, but if you have the version with the handle, this adds even more screws to remove, because you cannot take the side panel off without unscrewing the handle first. Second, the airflow leaves much to be desired. If you get this case, be sure to use a blower-style cooled GPU, because the case can't exhaust the air well enough to keep a GPU cool. I actually modded my ML08B to fit 3 slim 80mm fans in the top, under the handle, which has improved temperatures of my Gigabyte G1 GTX 1080 dramatically. I wish that Silverstone would make this a standard feature for the case, as it makes the case better compatible with a wider range of GPUs. Third, the plastic feet that come with the case are terrible. They don't clip on in any way so you can't move the case and have them stay put. They will do nothing to stop the PC from being knocked over should you bump it too hard. Other than these issues, the case is solid. It is very easy to assemble as long as you plan out your build first. You can also remove the optical drive holder if you wish and replace it with a 3.5" HDD, which is what I did, as I have no use for an optical drive, but could always use more storage. In conclusion, if you want a mini-ITX chassis that is slim, but can fit powerful hardware, this is the case for you. My system has an i7-6700k @ 4.5GHz, a GTX 1080, and 4TB worth of storage, all in this little box. It really is a great choice for those who don't have a lot of space or those who need to move the PC often, especially with the handle which allows for easy carrying. (although it is a bit uncomfortable) If you plan out your build and accept the limitations, the ML08B is a fantastic little case.
