On top is a bungie cord system that is great for securing gloves or a light jacket. Inside is a generous 22L compartment and a zippered mesh area in the lid for such things as manuals or insurance/registration documents. The bag is easy to use and expands to 34L when you need extra capacity, The bag itself is not waterproof, but included is a tight-fitting rain cover that will keep everything dry during wet weather. The bag can easily be removed from the bike by releasing the 4 buckles so that you can carry the bag with you. In addition to the carry handle, there are extra straps that can convert the tail bag into a backpack. Overall I am very happy with the features and appearance of this bag. My only wish is that it had either internal or external zippered pocket to help organize smaller items.
