No useful function under Windows 10
I thought I would save some on the cost of an Xbox for Windows controller and picked one of these up. IF you are looking for a controller to use with Windows 10 this is NOT it. The only functional thing it will do (after downloading the legacy driver from the manufacturer's website) is flash the lights in the dialogue window on control panel properties. No games recognize it.

Great for taller/larger people with big hands!
I'm a tall dude and a lot of controllers just don't fit comfortably in my hands. I had previously bought a Logitech gamepad years ago (and I still have it), but my hand would eventually cramp up after a few hours of playing. The world just isn't made for us big guys! I borrowed a Steelseries controller from a friend after I saw it at his house. After I tried it out, I knew that I had to get one of my own. It's perfect for gaming on your PC and it's very durable. I expect to get many years of use out of this controller.

Good except for the d-pad
It feels like solid build quality and has grippy feel in the back but the d-pad was always kind of loose when pressed down and hard to be precise. Now the d-pad only works in lower right directions so it's no longer use to me. It seems it's gotten messed up while I was playing fighting games with it but I was never very hard with it and never had a d-pad mess up with a regular console controller. Also because it was hard to be precise with it I may have had to keep more pressure down when I was using it. The rest of the controller is still ok. If it had a good d-pad I would rate it 5. If you only play games that don't require quick precise d-pad movement it would probably be ok, but there are others.

Go for the Logitech controller
Pretty poor for a product from what I thought was a reputable brand. The body and rubberised grips are fine, but the rest of it leave a lot to be desired. The buttons have quite a bit of free play and don't feel as sure as they should. The analogue sticks are well weighted but the control can be a bit hit and miss. Really, the worst thing is the d-pad. Perhaps it's a feature, but there's not enough distinction between the 8 directions, and you end up pointing in a direction just next to where you wanted to go on the d-pad. I've had $5 controllers with d-pads that were nowhere near as imprecise as this. Two stars for the rubberised grip, which isn't too bad. Unfortunately it only ended up providing a good grip for when I literally threw it away.

it's a fine controller but you have to know how to calibrate ...
As others have said, it's a fine controller but you have to know how to calibrate it. Definitely get the DS3 Tool (google Motioninjoy and you'll find a free download). One thing to be wary of is the MODE button (little round button in the center between analog sticks). Pressed, a light above it will either be green or red when the controller is plugged in. If green, the right analogy stick duplicates the buttons on the right. In other words, move the right analogy stick up, it inputs button #1. Move it to the right, controller inputs button #2. Down does #3, and left does #4. If the MODE shows a red light, the right analog stick effects directional movement. One thing I found messed up with the controller that was easy to configure once you run MotioninJoy is that the right analog stick confused the X and Y axis, so moving the analog stick left made a character go DOWN, right made him go UP, up made him go RIGHT, and down made him go LEFT. If you have this issue, fix it by going into configuration settings, and when you see the input for right analog stick say X-, X+, Y-, and Y+, you change as follows: X- becomes Y-. X+ becomes Y+. Y- becomes X-. Y+ becomes X+. After I saved those settings, the controller worked perfectly.

As expected
SteelSeries 3GC Dual Vibration PC Gaming Controller from toppriceshop fullfilled by amazon. As pictured and described 2/15/2015. Have only used less than an hour to check function of. Feels and looks like expected. Nice tacky rubbery grips. Usb cord only 5'9". Came in plastic bag not retail packaging. Pictures show what you are getting. Have not used force feedback because drivers not for win98. Controls work on win98 se without steelseries driver. Joysticks beefy shaft. No driver disc included. Retail packaged version does not include driver disc either. Have to go to steelseries website to get driver software for vibration feature.

Great for OS X Mac AND PC!
We got this working superbly on our Mac with OS X Lion 10.7.4.1 after i downloaded the app "Joystick Mapper" by Cibalta Creations from the Apple store (which works much better than "gamepad companion"). Plug and play with our Windows 7 intel 6-core overclocked gaming PC was a breeze as well. BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! To all those reviewers who say you can't game on a Mac!! We have a blast with ours!!

Worse controller ever
One of the worst controller ever I had come across to. Trust me, I am a professional gamer. Never buy this controller ever for any games.

Good lower end entry controller
I like this controller for what it is, and it is worth the price - though not worth it for newer generation games. Currently, I use this with a windows 10 PC, though previously windows 8, 7 and vista. My primary use for this controller is testing out builds of generally top down, isometric or side scroller video games, or when 3D, very rudimentary navigational control games. In other words, you won't be getting pin point control aiming wise from this controller. Pros: Light, very adaptable and has been plug and play for the most part. The controller itself feels comfortable and the grips are good quality, anyone who played with a PlayStation one or two would feel familiar with the controller at least slightly. The chord to plug is in decently long too. Cons: joysticks are not the best quality, neither are the buttons. However, after a few years of use and abuse they have held up just fine. The joystick also seems to only have about eight potential directions to move in - which is horizontally, vertically and both ways diagonally, anything else really isn't possible. All in all, a good PC controller if you are looking to relive old games a little more comfortabley than you used to, and without breaking the bank for a completely new and top of the line of.

Not very compatible with Windows games, pc ports of console games, or games in general. May have been possible to download non vendor software to make a work around, but the hours of hassle and no vendor support make this controoller unviable.
