Odyssea Clear+ 9W UV Submersible Filter Pump Ultraviolet Sterilizer Aquarium Fish Tank 75G

I bought this to try and see if it would clear up algae in my tank and also help with a columnaris issue that various antibiotics and other treatments have failed to clear up. I've sterilized the tank, the contents and the filters only to see the issue recur. This is a last attempt to get rid or control the problem. I removed the protective bubble wrap, submerged the filter but no matter which position I put the flow knob in I don't see any water current from the top square tube and I don't feel any either, so I don't know if the pump is working or not. I've felt the canister and don't feel any vibrations either and I don't feel any suction at the side slits either. I'm not sure what the top air hole was about and wondered if I had to attach an air pump for the filter to work so I did that and I'm still not seeing any water current. The instructions to say the least are limited. I also don't see any instructions telling you how to open the canister to check the impeller. I can only assume from the diagram that water should flow out from the top.UPDATEAfter leaving it for awhile I went back and still didn't see any water current from the top. I disconnected the pump from the air line and played with air flow control knob some more and then plugged out the air pump. When I looked into the tank I suddenly started seeing water flowing from the top of the uv filter! It would be good to have better instructions that at least said you had to wait for x minutes before the filter started working and that adjusting the air flow knob would also affect the water current. I have mine installed with the back to the front of the aquarium since the back of the tank is filled with HOB filters - I tend to put in more than I need for all of my tanks.Not seeing it have any water flow after I opened and closed the valve on the air hose I wondered if it meant that

The media could not be loaded.  I turn ON the Odyssea clear+ 9W UV light in a minimum rate so that the water flows in a slow pace in the UV light and it is suggested by the manufacturer for better result and it was! The unit is ON for 24hrs a day for 4 days and the result is phenomenal! I uploaded 4 pictures for comparison day by day and I’ll try also to upload a video of it.Thanks ODYSSEA!Update:I thought the 4th day is the best water I ever had but since I keep the Odyssea ON 4Hrs/day it’s getting better each day and you can see that in 14th day photo. But now I only turn it ON as needed. And the POTHOS plants I added on top of my filter from the start of using Odyssea helps a lot to control the Nitrates to convert into Nitrites that fish needed...

Just installed- hope it does the job! Had problems with my first delivery, but they made it right with an exchange. All good! Great communication with seller.

Just purchased this tank after going almost every product recommended on the internet and from our 2 local pet stores. Our water was testing fine on every level and yet our tank was looking like the Swamp Thing's Local hideout, murky and completely impossible to see in.Bought the 9W version (our tank is a 37gallon tank), installed it easily, and less than a week later it was crystal clear.

I bought a slightly cheaper one but that one didn't wok and I had to return it. This one works great! I had a lot of swim bladder disease in my fancy goldfish. It didn't respond to any form of medication or treatment including very expensive surgery. Since I first used UV filters in my aquariums I have never had another case of swim bladder disease.,

This UV sterilizer didn’t last very long after only 6 months of use plus I had to replace the bulb. Will not buy this again
