Pretty authentic. Easy to make into mug-size servings in teabags
Good stuff. As others say the dry mix smells pretty gross - probably the fish sauce in it - but once made into broth it's quite worth it.It's designed to make two big batches, but I like to have a mug of pho broth with a bit of Sriracha (and sometimes a few rice-noodles and cilantro) instead of afternoon tea. This comes with two spice packets and a sugar/salt paste. To make individual servings I open up the spice packets and mix it with the paste and spoon into Tea Filter Bags and staple. And put in a tupperware because of the smell. I sometimes add an envelope or two of knox gelatin in with the spices. Makes about 20 teabags.

Convincing substitute for the real deal.
Convinces all my friends that I can cook. My Vietnamese friend told me to try this and it's stupidly easy. Here's what you do.1. Boil Water2. Mix some of this in3. Taste test (if bland, add more)Done with the soup. Just add noodles and fixings.

This Jar makes two gallons. Because there are two Sachets of spices it is very easy to split in half to make two one gallon pots of broth! In the jar is the dry/paste base and two sachets of the spices. The taste was not as complex as fresh from the restaurant of course but close enough for at home. You can make this cheaper from scratch if you keep the plethera of spices required on hand. I suspect this is cheaper in a regular grocery store. I will be searching it out locally to keep on hand. If you do try to make from scratch I suggest half beef and half chicken broth as the broth is not as beefy as a straight beef broth like Better than Bullion which is our go to broth paste. If only making half a batch put the other half in the freezer.

Good but Requires Some Caution in Prep
First, any reviews that note the contents smell rank or rotten forget what pho is made of. One of the key ingredients to pho is actually fish sauce, which well, smells like fish. This product is basically the boullion counterpart for pho so it is super condensed. On that note, unless you are making a heaping pot of broth you will not need to use even half of the container. When heated up, the broth (without spice packet added yet) is extremely salty so it's recommended you start by adding half or full teaspoon at a time and adding to taste. If you keep the broth for later use after cooking it all together you may find it is very fatty. If you are contentious about that sort of thing it may be best to prepare the broth (to taste) first, then refrigerating it and removing solidified fat off the top as preferred.Taste-wise, if you are careful about not making your broth too concentrated and trying to water down, this stuff is pretty good. I definitely enjoyed having my home smell like a Vietnamese restaurant for a week and a half. But not enough to wish there were pho scented candles. I'd likely end up trying to eat the non-flavorful candles.

I was so easy.
So satisfying. I bought this so we can have pho for new years eve and I couldn't believe that it came out so flavorful. It came with 2 spice packets and a wet kinda powder. I used 1 spice packet and half the powder and it made about 10 bowls.I had to use the other packet and the rest of the powder the next day because the my niece kept drinking the broth for her cold. I will definitely stock up on these and will try the chicken flavor. I was so easy.

Great bullion
I’m Vietnamese and this stuff is legit. It’s my family’s go-to pho bullion. It’s great for adding a little bit more umph flavor to your pho.

Ready Quick
If you cant slave over a fire and pot for 12 hours, this does the job. Just wish the spice pack was separated. One does not always make pho for 20 people all at once. Good flavor, near authentic rally. I like it a lot !

Great authentic Pho Flavor!!
This is really good stuff. I am making my short cut pho with this and it’s been awesome. I love the aroma and flavor this gives off. I think you should adjust the amount to your liking. Be careful to not overdue or it will be too salty. You can fix this by adding more water.
