I just wish they could make cranking handle like Sumner, instead the big wheel, kind of a little bit bulky. We used this to hang 10 foot sheets on a 10 foot ceiling and it worked very well. The only downside was the cable would slip over a weld on the wheel spindle when raising. It scared me the first couple times until I figured out what was happening but it did not fail. Overall I was happy with the choice. **Q: Can this lift be used to hang vertically or are there extensions for the two arms?** A: No, only horizontally. May be hung vertically on a vault, but 2-12 pitch is as far as the lift will tilt. **Q: Does the panel cradle lock in the horizontal position?** A: Yes it does. **Q: Does the cradle lock in the horizontal position?** A: It doesn’t really lock in either position. It's supposedly can only lift 68 pounds but by the way it's built it seems like it can lift quite a bit more. Used it to hang five eights inch drywall and it does this all day long no problem. The best part is the break on the wheel. It's a nice firm break and you don't have to worry about the board coming crashing down on your head. Also disassembles and folds up into a pretty small space that can be stowed in your trunk.
