## Description

FOR FULL SPECIFICATIONS AND DETAILS, PLEASE REVIEW THE PRODUCT PAGE AT NOOELEC.COM LaNA is a very high performance, wideband LNA module designed for general purpose SDR applications. Each module allows for 3 different power options, but you should only power with one option at any given time! The recommended power input through the SMA output port (for bias-tee capable SDRs like the NESDR SMArTee XTR) is 3V-5V DC. Alternatively, if you don't have a bias-tee capable SDR, you can use the external power options--the microUSB port, or DC barrel connector via the included DC to microUSB adapter. The recommended external power input is 3.3V-5.5V DC. Though there is protection circuitry on LaNA for overvoltage conditions--and voltages of up to 12V DC should still work and will not damage the device--it is not recommended for long-term usage. Each LaNA module has an internal EMI shield to protect the sensitive circuitry from external interference and is fully ESD-protected.

Review: Great - Does what it says
Review: Be patient and experiment - Purchased to improve NOAA reception . Using with SDRPLAY 1A and sdruno. First off, the bias t output from sdrplay wasn't enough to run the LNA. led flashed once and went off, so I used usb supply and it powered on. Initially when trying to receive signals I had nothing but noise.. But after reducing the RF gain in sdruno down to minimum and then notching up a little at a time I found a happy medium. As you can see from pictures. This was using a J pole vertical antenna tuned for 2 metres..in the attic! I may consider disconnecting the Led and see if this brings the current requirement down enough for the sdrplay to run it. I have yet to try on UHF. Overall a good device for the price.

## Features

- A wideband (20MHz - 4GHz), high-performance, general purpose LNA module
- Higher gain, lower noise figure, lower power consumption and better linearity than modules based on SPF5189Z and similar LNA MMICs
- Can be powered through bias tee (3.3V-5V), USB, or DC power
- Made in North America. 1 year support & service! A retail version with aluminum enclosure is also available, see desertcart product ID B07XNLJ9X2
- NOTE: Some SDRs will require a DC block between the LNA and SDR if utilizing the external power options. For more information review the product page or datasheet: https://www.nooelec.com/datasheets/100802

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does what it says on the spec
*by D***E on 28 December 2020*

Connects easily via adapters to other SDRs. Mine is currently attached to the SDR Mini V2, and is used for receiving 2m amateur signals and also DVB-T through VLC. In order to minimise the strain on what appear to be quite delicate connectors I designed and printed a tray to sit it on. It would be most beneficial placed at the base of the antenna with power supplied through the Bias Tee, rather than USB.
