Review: Great stuffed burger press. - I'm thoroughly impressed. This created the best stuffed burgers I've ever had. My wife, who really only eats in order to live, said the burger tasted like it was from a nice burger restaurant. I used 80/20 ground beef mixed with 1 egg per 4lbs of meat. I seasoned with garlic salt and pepper. I'm planning to do a bunch of these and freeze the patties so we can just take them out, thaw them in the fridge and slap them on the grill. I don't plan to use the slider part, but that's a thing. I only have two complaints: 1- the diameter of the patty is a little too small. 2- after pressing the bottom half of the meat it's a little difficult to get the press to release the meat. It sort of creates a suction.
Review: Stuffed burgers are Cool! - I have had this for a week or three now and have made a couple of batches of burgers with it. I will say that overall I like this tool and would only wish that I had one identical but made from stainless steel. The plastic is really durable and has no effect on the outcome, but I just feel stainless steel would be more attractive, durable, and easier to clean. CONSTRUCTION: This is well made. No sharp edges or snagging parts. Everything fits well and is designed with holes to be mounted to a board for secure work. Handles are easy to grip and do not cut into my hands. I only wish there was a way to retain all parts so they would not fall apart when stored. Currently the top of the press will come out of the base if allowed to float in a drawer. I just put mine into a zip-lock bag to resolve the issue, works great. USE: I have not made lots of burgers with this, but have made several batches, more large burgers than sliders. Both instances of the use of this item works well. There is instructions provided on how to use this device, as it can be a little confusing when seeing all the parts loose. It is easy to use though and you should not worry. The surfaces do not stick to the meat badly and the lower plate of both tools comes out to make the job as easy as possible. Just pack the meat inside (I use a spoon to put the meat into the device as it works best, trust me) and after a couple of times you will have the amount needed down to a science. Press the lid down into the mold a couple of times, rotating the handle about 1/3 to 1/2 the way around each time to make things more even. Then just push up from the bottom of the base to remove floor and burger. I just put the burger and floor of tool onto the grill or pan together and then pull up on the plastic floor plate which comes off the burger easily enough. A tip is to line the bottom of the burger press with wax paper, plastic wrap, oil, or even heavy seasoning to make the burgers release the most easy way. You can also stuff burgers with this tool. There is a detachable lid section for that and it works great. It locks on the lid with a slight twist and stays in place while making burgers without an issue. CLEAN UP: Like said before, I think that stainless steel would be better, but it would cost more as well. I got this on sale for just a couple of dollars. Overall it does clean up nicely. The plastic is not a porous one and all food comes off really easily. I would not just throw this into a sink full of dishes because it could get marred up and I do not know if once this plastic becomes scratched or loosed it finish if it will react the same way. I do not use a dishwasher so I can not say how well it holds up or cleans in one. It is easy to clean though and dry as well. It stores in a compact package as well. I do like to wash mine off with clean water before use each time and spray oil on it before use.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: This is more about cooking, but...do the center condiments get cooked? We bachelors have to ask when we don't know. Thanks.**
A: Yes. The top patty is thinner so that makes more heat contact the inside surprise. You would definitely cook bacon before filling the well. Love this product.

**Q: Does it come with a recipe book?**
A: No recipe book but I've tried just using some favorite items that taste good with burgers, such as cheese, chopped onion and veggies and then just follow 'how-to-use' instructions on stuffing the burger and it works perfectly.

**Q: What's the diameter of the finished burger?**
A: The inside diameter of the burger mold is 3-7/8 inches and of the slider mold 2-5/8 inches. The height of the burger mold is nearly one inch high. I have not tried either mold yet but I am answering this question because I was also interested in the dimensions before I ordered the product. I would imagine that filling the burger mold, and removing the filling, the filling could be pressed down say by the bottom of a plate to flatten it out and thereby result in a wider and thinner burger if so desired. The bottoms of both molds are separate pieces. If the bottom is not used, I imagine the burger mold could be filled and perhaps raised to allow more filling leading to a thicker burger which could be pressed to make it wider, but that is only supposition on my part. Might work though. This looks like a useful product. I'll resist packing it too tightly based on a cooking show advising against that.

**Q: what material is this made of**
A: This is one of those times it really is confusing when more than one type of product is available per selection. Some of the items are plastic while others are cast iron, etc. The smash press to make a “smash burger” is cast iron, while so elf the molds for making patties ahead of time appear to be plastic.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Updated 11/19/2019 - important for anyone with dexterity,..
*by M***O on November 7, 2017*

Update 11/2019 - while after all this time we still like this we did find one issue. it has held up great, no color fading, no chips or cracks. the problem however lies in design. the lower cap part on the lid you press down on, it's not easy to remove especially if greasy at all. we found out the first time when it wasn't removed and placed into the dishwasher. it filled the inside of the cap with water that sloshed around when removed from the dishwasher. now when we use it we get that piece off but as said it can be tricky to remove. if you have any hand dexterity issues, arthritis, etc. for those you may want to reconsider. for most folks i think they'll like as we do even if it isn't the easiest to get apart to clean. if not for that one issue i'd have kept it at 5 stars. nice and sturdy even if not made from metal or ceramic. you get a couple different size inserts for either medium or large sized burgers. very easy to use and clean up after. very happy with!
