I have two other fish tanks and use sponge filters in all three and find them very efficient. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Single Sponge Filter Review - Good for starting a brackish water tank *by D***H on June 24, 2020* Needed to get something to circulate beneficial bacteria and get all this algae to grow since I was looking into keeping Opae Ula shrimp. I saw a lot of people online had something similar and gave it a go, does a very good job of aerating the water and some basic filtration of larger stuff. It seemed to pull some strands of this macro algae from the other side of the tank but that was just reassurance it was working. Down the line a few months in though it seems the suction cup has trouble sticking to the sides of the tank; Not sure if that's because there's a layer of micro algae or if the suction cup isn't liking the brackish water.
