Q: Is it okay for babies who like to suck on hands but still need to be swaddled? Looking for a transition product from swaddle to nothing.

Yes! My 5 month old loves to suck on her hands through this blanket. She was getting frustrated with a traditional tight swaddle, but wasn't ready to be on her own. The 50/50 is a great solution as it gives her just enough support- she loves it!

Q: Does the baby have to keep arms up over his head? My baby sleeps with his arms at his side and up at his face.

The hands end up being by their face or cheeks, not up over the head. My baby was the same. They won't be able to move their hands down by their waist/side though. They stay by the cheeks or chin.

Q: Does anyone else's baby have really sour smelling hands after sleeping in this?

If your baby sucks on their hands, it will leave hands (and swaddle) smelling sour. I put socks on our baby's hands to help. I still have to wash the swaddle more regularly, but it adds another layer of protection for their hands. It would be great if the inside of the hands were somehow waterproof! Or if they were more affordable to allow for an extra swaddle while the other is washed.
