ALTRA Trail Gaiter

Fit perfect. Read reviews that had me worried the Large size would be too big, but if it was any smaller, Im not sure I could get it on my foot and over my heel. Im 6ft3, 185lbs, regular foot width, skinnish ankle, daily runner for years. Ankle circumference at the top of gater 9.4in, 24cm. The material is thin, its made for trail runs to keep dust and dirt out of the laces and socks.

These are great gaiters I use them on Altra, New Balance, Asics and Topo shoes

Used these in the dunes, was great. Easy to attach to shoe and kept sand out.

I have to return mine for the smaller size. I read a bunch of reviews that said they felt saggy and to get the smaller size. But I decided to try the size large first cos according to their size chart…I’m well into that range (12M)…and with fairly large calves. But no. We’ll try again with the smaller size.

These aren't for mud, snow, or water. They are to keep those highly annoying little pieces of plant debris and rocks out of your socks and shoes when you run trails. I use them on every run. If you don't have Altra shoes, clean the back of your shoe with a little rubbing alcohol and stick a velcro tab about halfway up. It will stay stuck for months at least, and that and the front hook are all you need. When you remove them, peel the velcro carefully from the heel so as not to disturb the adhesive velcro patch.I only wash and dry these by hand now. The metal hook got stuck on a vent hole in my dryer, and as the drum continued to turn the hook got ripped off. Having velcro in the dryer often results in damage fabrics anyway. I will find a way to reattach the hook, but after each dirty run these now get washed with a bit of dish soap in the sink and air dried.More color options would be nice.

Keeps trail debris out of my hiking shoes. Big score.

I love these gators. I always get things in my shoes and I hate stopping to clear them out. I have ultra shoes and these are perfect since they have the Velcro in the back. It does come with Velcro if you don’t have the shoes but they do work perfectly.

Ran an ultra on sand and purchased these to keep the sand out. Worked exactly as described and weren’t too tight. Wasn’t distracting. Kept all debris out and dried quickly running through surf on beach.
