Wait: A Bleeding Stars Stand-Alone Novel

“No Boy Should Have The Right To Look That Good” . . .
That should be the tagline to EVERY ONE of A.L. Jackson’s books! 😅 I swear, that one line show up in one variation or another in most of her books (if not all of them)! 🥹 But, anyway, I LOVED this book of hers, too! It felt raw and real (in a good way, I promise). I’m happy Austin Stone (Sebastian’s little brother from Book 1 & the MMC of this book) finally got the happy ending he so deserved with the girl of his dreams (second-chance romances are some of my favorites 😍). I also really FELT for him losing his twin brother that young (not a spoiler if you read Sebastian’s (Baz) story, Book 1, first). (Again, what is with this author and twins? One of them seems to always not make it for some reason . . . 🥺) And I really FELT for Edie (the FMC), too, felt her pain, felt her trama, & I understood why she never told her brother. One thing I DO wish that the author WOULD have done is made the *jerk* (I would use a MUCH stronger word here, but I don’t want my review to get taken down) who hurt Edie (I’m not gonna say how or what he did here, but you can imagine . . . 🥺) end up in prison for what he did because you can BET that he did the SAME thing to other young, vulnerable girls, too . . . I really don’t understand why A.L. Jackson decided to let Austin & Ash (Edie’s brother) let him (the *jerk*) go . . . Maybe too much time had passed to get a conviction or maybe he’s gonna come up again in later books, I don’t know . . . I guess we’ll see . . . 🤔 But now, I can’t wait to start on Ash’s story (the next book in the series) & see him finally “settle down” with just ONE girl if you know what I mean . . . 😉 (Good thing I have Spring Break this week to actually have time to listen 🎧 while I go on my long walks . . . 😅)

Not your usual Second Chance Romance.
Normally I pay better attention but this time, I had a series sneak past me. I accidentally read "Stay" before starting at the beginning of the "Bleeding Star"s series. Yes, yes I know it's a "standalone" but most hardcore romance readers know it's better to read the books in a series in order. I kept telling myself -while reading Stay- these HAVE to be existing characters! Quick check and yep, they were. Dang-it! So once I finished Stay, I popped over and bought the rest of the series. I loved Stay and I was positive I'd love the stories that came before it. End result? 1&2 were tolerable. I HATED #3 and 4 & 5 were perfect. Hopefully #6 is as well.***Teeny Tiny Spoilers Ahead***The heroine might annoy you at first but just go with it, she has her reasons and they're actually really good and explain why she's a little high strung and ridiculous at times. Normally I get pretty frustrated reading Second Chance Romance's. The hero always dumps the heroine to spend many many years whoring around until he decides he's ready to lower himself to being with the heroine who didn't used to be good enough. This has a slight taste of that. The hero wasn't exactly pining over the heroine when they were apart if you catch my drift BUT in his defense she's the one who broke things off with him and he wasn't really in a great place in life when it happened; they both sort of needed to grow up, I decided to let it go lol. Here's the run down:1.) Cheating? Nope! Yay!2.) Cliffhanger? Not at all.3.) HEA? Yep yep yep!4.) Graphic violence or anything that might make you cringe? Kind of? I mean there's definitely some content that could trigger sensitive readers but the author doesn't really get graphic with her descriptions or recounting of the unsavory situations so you should be alright if you're squeamish.6.) Sexual content? How hot was it? Too much? Not enough? Very vanilla and sweet. There's a ton of build up which always makes things better.7.) Would I recommend this book to my friends? If you're already here, read the blurb and dig my feedback then yeah, crack it open.

Love Love Love ⭐️
✨Firelight✨These two 💛 I have been rooting for Austin since we met him in book 1 of this series and this was absolute perfection. Austin and Edie are two broken souls that together become one again. Both have such heartbreaking stories, they are the only ones who understand each other. They are the missing piece the other needs to heal and live again. This book made my heart so full and so happy! 5 beautiful stars for this one! 🫶🏼

Must Read
Another breathtaking story of angst, anguish, guilt, remorse and longing. A page turner that’s impossible to put down written masterfully.

Yet another great book of A. L. Jackson
I have to say it: I just loooove L. A. Jackson!! There hasn't been one book of hers I didn't like. I knew this one would just fit right in.Edie - what a beautiful name. The kinda name I'd like to choose for my baby girl someday... And OMG - have we been waiting for the story of poor damadged Austin <3I loved that he got a chance to "tell" his story. And even though I didn't cry as hard as I used to while reading A.L. s books, I liked this beautiful story a lot. I guess it's their journey to finding themselves and each other that made this story so touching. At a very young age both had to deal with horrible situations / consequences which challenged them both in their own way.You won't regret one-clicking this one, I promise you!Lots of love to you, A. L. Jackson ;)P.S.: already excited for Ash's story!!

Warm FEELS all over!!
"I sifted my fingers through her hair. “No… Edie. I’m gonna be your strength. Your courage. Stand behind you when you need the support. Hold you up when you’re failing. And when you’re soaring, I’m going to be the one watching you fly. I will never drag you down or hold you back. Tell me you trust me.”Ahhhh swoooon... Austin Stone... Tormented, haunted by the past, lost, and guilt ridden. This boy, living with the loss of his twin brother and also pining away for his soulmate and lost love. And this girl, Edie Evans, also haunted by her past actions and still feeling the betrayal of the boy she trusted and loved unconditionally. When this boy and girl reconnect, the pull between them is palpable and electric, and their love has not diminished in the slightest.AL Jackson's prose is beautiful and spellbinding - I was drawn into this stunning story of loss, trust and love. And the final chapter is absolute PERFECTION, I welled up with tears and had goosebumps.

Two souls joined
Satisfying ending to Austin and Edie’s story. We finally learned what each tortured themselves with and their final reckonings. I loved our poor tortured Austin in previous books so this was a welcomed book.I don’t know why but I found the writing style changed somehow and personally didn’t enjoy it as much. It seemed very choppy. The life lessons for the characters were beautiful though.
