Review: Sturdy, lightweight, and great clips - The best thing about this strap is the clips. The clips are a combination of metal and rugged plastic. I ordered straps from a different company that supposedly specializes in shoulder straps, and the clips were all plastic and cheaply made. I also ordered a strap from another company where the clip was all metal, but that also did not work because it made the strap too heavy. The clips on the Maxpedition strap are perfect because it has both metal and rugged plastic. It makes it sturdy and lightweight at the same time. One would think that you could easily get straps like this online, but I have found them to be pretty rare. For smaller bags, I get the 1.5 inch width. For duffle bags, I use the 2 inch width. Some people prefer clips that are all metal, but I think it adds too much weight, and is not worth it. The Maxpedition strap is the perfect answer.

I purchased this for a shoulder bag I would be using for a trip. This strap is great. It has more than enough strength to carry an average size bag.(20" + or - 3 inches) It matched the color of my khaki bag and is wide enough to not "dig into" my shoulder...it has ample adjustment to lengthen and shorten to your individual needs.. the clips on the ends fasten in with a sharp snap...great..I recommend this to anybody that wants to upgrade their carry straps for their luggage...Note... how many of us have had a bag fall because of a poor strap with weak connections and lost a valuable item...yep enough said...for this price it's a good deal..enjoy..
