The frame seems sturdy, I guess the components aren't
I purchased this bike with intention of riding it with my kids and doing some trail riding. I put it together out of the box and took it to get tuned up, the rear deraileur (Shimano) was "frozen" and had to be replaced. Then, the chain (KCM 9 speed) had a bent link and broke while on a street ride with the kids. It need to be replaced. I got those things fixed and rode a couple of times around the development where I live. Now that my body is broken in and ready for trail riding I went on some light single track and jeep trails that were not hardcore at all. The right crank stripped out completely (Suntour XCR6) and needs to be replaced. If I still had the box I would send it back! I am very frustrated!!! The frame seems sturdy, I guess the components aren't. I am afraid that as I get a bit more technical something else will break. Hopefully not when going downhill!

Build and handle like a tank, as long as you keep that in mind
I have been a Gravity owner for nearly three years and I love this bike!!!I rode on paved rec trails along the shore of Monterey and Pacific Grove and offroad on many single tracks in the former Ft. Ord with friends and this bike has yet to let me down. Please keep in mind that this is not a bike for serious, hardcore trail riding and definitely not one to take to the SeaOtter Classic. I used this bike for commuting almost daily and for recreational riding in between! And so far, ALL the original components have held up great and just now, I finally have to replace the original rear brake cable and cable housing due to the wear and tear of particular angled portion at the seat tube. This is the first 29er as I have transitioned from the usual 26" full suspension bikes. I have to admit that this bike is much, much heavier, almost like riding a tank and thus far, have proven to me it held up like one! While I would not have taken a leap off anything higher than a couple of feet of ledges, I have ridden down stairs many a times, enjoying the awesome front and rear suspensions. This is a BIG and heavy bike! If you are of slender build, it would be taxing for you to haul this thing about, even the simple task of mounting it onto a bike carrier. I lived on a second floor apartment and I do not believe in keeping any bikes outdoor over any length of time so I would haul my bike up and down those stairs daily- a great workout on its own, for sure! While I loved many components of this bike, I have to admit that I would have like a cassette with a lower gear ring though, as this puts more an effort in pedaling up slopes than my older, lighter bikes. I would recommend changing that when possible, before the gears and chain were well worn in.I will have to get a new bike eventually as I intended to convert one to an ebike and this Gravity is too heavy to utilize the weaker motors and controllers, aside from being full suspension which meant it would have to be either a rear or mid hub installation.Would I recommend this bike? Yes, this is a bike that would hold up well with the usual minor tune ups and care. Do keep in mind that this is a big and heavy bike but it does turn heads often though :-)

Another awesome purchase! On my second Gravity bike now and ...
Another awesome purchase! On my second Gravity bike now and this one was just as easy to setup as the first and my husband's brother is super stoked about his new bike. They rode trails this past weekend and he said he's never ridden a bike that handled as well as this one had and he couldn't stop thanking us for the gift.I would recommend this bike or the Gravity FSX 1.0 (our first bike) to anyone who is considering buying from Gravity.

My Gravity FSX One Mountain Bike
I have this bike and have love it. I made sure I was assembling it correctly by watching some videos and I am glad I did since I have never assembled one before. After that it was pretty easy. I've had for a while now and all seems peachy!
