I've seen replacement 20R pads sold for those brakes, but I don't see how you can replace just the pads. I think you really do need this set.The gear was Avid made and high quality. There's an 'R' on each pad -- not sure what that means as I don't think it's rear or right! The Avid print on the side does tell you which way up.There were no directions, so hope you have your old directions or simply pay attention to your existing pads. I took a photo of my setup so if things fell apart I'd know how to assemble them -- spacer configuration will vary depending on your rims.Replacement took about 10-15 minutes and it's pretty easy as long as you don't drop any pieces. Fortunately between old and new you have some backup.I recommend buying more than one replacement set. My Avid brakes are probably 5-7 years old; who knows if they'll be sold in 5 years.
