## Description

On the edge of civilization lies the village of Tanana, Alaska, where generation after generation battle the elements of nature in a fight for survival. Season 3 begins with these Yukon Men and their families emerging from the dark days of winter to refuel and restock, only to find that the fiercest blizzard of the year is barreling straight toward them. Recovery from the blizzard will be slow--and will have some questioning their future as Yukon Men. But stoically and stubbornly, the village carries on, coming together for the spring goose hunt and the biggest event of the year--the annual dog-sled race. This 2-disc set contains 8 hard-fought episodes that will leave you grateful for the comforts of home and completely in awe of the strength of the human spirit.

Best season of the show, but the producers tried to introduce too much false drama

*by B***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 12, 2014*

I love this show for all the reasons mentioned by others. This season was great because you got to know the characters in more detail. I really thought this was the best season. I love this show. Why did I mark it down a star? Well, there were a few of the plot twists that were just too clearly artificial and scripted. The producers clearly wanted to set up a lot of tension, but a few of the stories just couldn't be true. There's no way close neighbors would backstab each other the way they showed. A bunch of the stories seemed genuine, but a few were clearly artificial. Also, it was _very_ clear that a couple of the "dangerous" situations were completely fabricated by the producers, especially in the last episode. You can clearly see that the person is acting..... it's too bad. I love this show, and I feel like they don't need to inject all this artificiality to make it "better." It just makes it worse.Still, I thought this was a great season.

    I love the people

*by A***B on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on October 21, 2014*

I love the people, the location, the circumstances and the challenges of the frontier life. This show has a fundamentally honest and gritty feel - much like the Happy People of the Taiga. It is great to follow them, and I hope this show does not succumb to the usual "jump the shark for better ratings" drama other shows have fallen victim to.However, they really need to tone down the "every second we could die" angle and over-the-top drama narration. So far we've seen a "no fish" catastrophe, a "no wood" catastrophe, an "always dark" catastrophe, a "no meat" catastrophe, a "no snow" catastrophe and "Alaska cold" catastrophe. And let's be honest, a sizable number of the recurring cast are obviously not missing many meals. We get it - there is sufficient danger just having the balls to live there, but please just document it honestly and leave the obvious vocal editing and the over-the-top fear of disaster hyperbole for CNN.

    Yukon Men Rocks!

*by C***K on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 20, 2013*

This is one of the best reality shows on television. I don't think Sean is gonna make it though. He complains too much about his duties. What did he expect being a dog handler? I wouldn't do it. Did he expect to be staying in a hotel? Pat won't keep him. Sad to see father and sons not getting along, but that's life. Glad they're not sugar coating things and showing true reality. Love the hunting and trapping parts. Love the girls. Get Kate on the show more. Great show. R&R
