I will tell you this thing rocks and use pure water. Distilled water I think is best and it is cheap and has zero flavor. Clear hard ice use on max setting for drinks. Another tip use chilled water out of the fridge or out of the bottle water cooler makes it faster. Now I live where there is very hard tap water that could cause damage with minerals and not get clear ice. For 250.00 I made it up $$ and is better than store bought and plus running to the store at $3.00 a pop. Fridge Ice sucks. Runs quiet. Not perfect but the next step up is $500.00 plus and install. Round it to a 1000.00 for a cheap one. It doses make 40 pounds easy in a day. Once you get a stack of 30 lbs. Who needs that much a day. If you have a party I just go but 4 bags and done. Must drain when not in use but I fire it up every other day and it's fine.
