To hold it on the vertical surface drill small holes and attach to the wires with small zip ties. When they are tight cut off the tails close to the grabbing end.If you have a Ferret Nation you would know because they cost a lot more and are very sturdy. I was given some cages without the plastic trays and just used the white board instead. I like it better than the original trays. You can cut extra material to make spill guards. Hold them in place with 2 inch spring clamps from Home Depot. Get them in the tool area by the other carpentry clamps.
