I've been sharpening knives for about a year now with smiths course and fine diamond stones. And with those in conjuntion with this strop i can put a hair popping mirror-like edge  on any knife made out of any material. I use the green chromium oxide dressing and I've sharpened hundreds of knives, some as short as 1/2 an inch and some as long as 6 inches. This strop may only be 2 inches wide and some people may complain about it. But if you know what your doing, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that if you take your knife down the strop, as long as you move downward more than you move the knife horizontally/sideways, you wont cut or even knick the strop and you can strop a knife as long as 6 inches. This strop was and is still one of the best investments I have ever made.

This is a great strop for putting a polished edge on a blade.  Although it is designed primarily for straight razors, I actually use my strop for my collection of folding knives.  The highly sharpened, polished edge I am able to put on a blade with this strop is amazing.  Well worth the money.
