## Overview

The XLAB Gorilla Cage in Matte Black is a premium carbon water bottle cage engineered for mountain and road cyclists who demand superior bottle retention. Featuring 6 high-shouldered carbon fingers and a tall retention tab, it offers over twice the gripping force of conventional cages. Designed for bottles with uniform grooves, it fits all standard mounts and weighs only 0.15 pounds, combining lightweight durability with a sleek, stealthy look.

## Description

The Gorilla helps prevent bottles ejecting from cages on bumpy roads, mountain bikes and saddle-mounted water bottle carriers. The cage has over 2X the gripping force of conventional carbon cages due to the 6 high shouldered carbon gripping fingers, tall retention tab at the top and thicker carbon. The Gorilla cage will fit on any standard cage mounts. Use a bottle that has a groove all the way around that is uniform and fits tightly into the hook at the top of the Gorilla Cage. Bottles with grooves that are not uniform around the entire circumference like the Polar Insulated bottles are not recommended for use with the XLAB Gorilla Cage, and in our experience these two bottles do not stay in place on rear carriers due to the lack of groove for the cages to grip.

I bought two of these cages to put on the back of my triathlon bike. Every other bottle cage I’ve had would eject my water bottles when I hit a bump at any significant speed. These cages hold my bottles tight, regardless of how full they are, and are easy to get the bottles into and out of. I got them in time for my most recent Ironman bike leg and couldn’t be happier with how well they work.At $75 a piece, it’s a steep price for bottle cages, but if you are a serious cyclist and don’t want to have to worry about your bottles bouncing out while you’re racing, descending, or just riding on a rough surface, it’s worth every penny.
