This red is more or less magenta on most paper. If you want a true red or a "darker" red, like an oxblood, I would suggest adding some Waterman Intense black ink to it or even blue to it, or both. Like do a cut of 50% red, 25% black, and 25% blue. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it'll darken it up a bit. The ink flow is medium in most pens -- not too wet and not too dry. It seems to dry very quickly. Overall it's a nice ink, though I wouldn't say it's "red"... but you can make it "redder".
