They are made of brass material and engineered to last forever. They are designed to survive harsh elements. Stainless steel bearings enable those super sensitive rotating rings to prevent the flag from wrapping around the flagpole. Our design also allows easy replacement of bearings if worn out. Shown in the picture is using a pair of rings to hold a 3 x 5 feet flag mounted onto a 5 x 3/4 feet copper plumbing pole. Mounting bracket for pole, pole, and flag are for illustration only and NOT included in this sale. Size: 1 inch, it fits poles with an OD between 3/4 to 1 inch. Attention: It does not fit 1inch plumbing pipes since plumbing pipes OD is 1 1/8 inch. Review: Really sturdy hardware - These are beautifully machined and hefty brass swivels that spin easily. I was disappointed that it did not fit my original flagpole which has a diameter of 1-1/4”. I loved the machining and beauty of its construction so I decided to get a new flagpole instead and to keep the swivels. I chose to use EMT conduit as a cheap DIY flagpole but even though these supposedly fit a 1” flagpole it did not fit the 1” EMT conduit. I then bought a 10 ft pole of 3/4” conduit, cut to 6ft by the big box store for under $5, which worked perfectly. Even though the 3/4” pole worked in my existing flag mount I decided to slip the flagpole into a tube of 1” conduit I had lying around so it would look nicer in the mount. The 1” conduit went into the flag mount first and was cut so that the actual lower swivel of the flagpole sat right on the top of it. I determined exactly where to place the lower swivel after experimenting with it in the wind to make sure the flag did not furl or tangle and was not too tight or too loose. When I got the location set I marked the corresponding line on the outer 1” EMT conduit and cut it so that the swivel of the actual flagpole sat right on it. It looks fantastic and works great. To prettify my flagpole I sanded any rough areas then spray painted it with some Rustoleum metallic spray to a beautiful dark hammered bronze color. I also painted the outer 1” pole. Since I didn’t have a flagpole cap or finier I bought a 3/4” PVC cap (make sure it’s threaded) which fit snug into the end of the pole. Without the threads it will just slip off so make sure it’s threaded. I also spray painted the cap. The swivels seem to be working great and I am finally done with the cheap plastic stuff that keeps breaking and needing to be unfurled 7 times a day. See photos.
