Intercom Central® GROUND wire Power-line 3 CHANNELS Intercom System, Two Stations Set.

I was skeptical at first but read the other reviews and decided to try it. It works great for us! Plugged it in and started using it right away. We had to use channel 3 for best reception. One unit is in the basement and the other unit is on a cabinet at the top of the stairs in the kitchen. For best results don't move close to the unit to talk. Just stand upright next to the unit and speak normally. The back-lit buttons are great, easy to see in the basement with just a lamp on for lighting. I was worried my 87 year old Dad might have trouble using it. He has Parkinson's Disease. He had no trouble at all! No more screaming down the stairs to a person with hearing loss and no hearing aids. The call button works great also. Can buzz it from upstairs and can hear if it goes off downstairs to make sure Dad has turned on his unit.

These worked great and really solved a problem we had at the time. Transmission was clear & strong. Customer service was proactive reached out to me instead of the other way around!

Purchased this intercom system for my son and his family as their new home had a third room which was made into the kids' "Rowdy Room". Rather than yelling up three floors, thought this intercom system would work for them. Well....it worked great for maybe three months. Now all you can hear is static and will no longer work between the three floors. Nothing has changed in the house or the electrical plugs that they used from the very beginning so what happened? Can't contact the seller to find out any trouble-shooting or see if there's a fix to the problem. Will look for another brand or something locally. Disappointed that the units didn't keep working!

I wanted to rate this 3.5 stars, but what's a guy to do?I have an office. I have a secretary. Tired of yelling across the building from my office into hers. This is the reason for this product. I cannot speak about large houses or anything else - just a regular office ~ 1,000 square feet.I ordered this item you see right here, but 3 units arrived. Not sure what exactly happened, but as you can see from this posting, I did order THIS specific item. (Amazon notes when we purchased the item through Amazon.)Okay, so I got three and did a happy dance. Well, sort of.The transmit button isn't the greatest. Sometimes I talk to my secretary but the the button isn't somehow fully depressed and she only hears part of my conversation. I am pressing it, but I have to make sure I am always pressing it straight down - a little strange for a unit like this.Also, this unit DOES NOT WORK WELL unless it is plugged DIRECTLY into the wall. That means NO power strips. If you have to use a power strip, your quality will probably be pretty poor. THIS IS IMPORTANT as it isn't mentioned anywhere else. Don't buy if you need to use power strip with this product.Okay, so now that I've scared you, this product is just what it says it is. It allows you to talk through the electrical outlets. Not too sexy. Not perfect sound. A little hum when the other person is talking. BUT it has easy setup and I'm not yelling at my secretary any longer. (Well, at least I'm not yelling so she can hear me.)This unit is decent - pretty much what I expected. Wish the transmit button was better. VERY easy to setup.Also, only 1 channel works for me. The other two are terrible so I don't use them. There you go!

I installed four of these around my house (basement, main floor, and second floor), and we love them! They are clear, have no interference, and are an easy, inexpensive way to keep from yelling up and down stairs all the time. I even gave some to my elderly parents for the same reason. Easy to use and to set up. They work straight out of the box.

I didn't want to write this review until some months after purchasing this product. So now is the time.I do not live in the US (I live in Costa Rica) so I was a bit hesitant to purchase this product because I didn't knew if it was going to work on our electric environment (My electricity knowledge is very limited). But I went ahead and took the chance and I can say I am very happy with the product. I have it in two rooms (upstairs/downstairs) and we have it set it up on channel 3 and working almost perfectly. I had to use a power cord extension to put it just beside my bed and no problems. No interference. You can set the desired volume. In small words, this intercom was exactly what I was expecting. Thanks guys for such a nice product!

Well I finally lost it when once again the intercom system we had wouldn't work again. Hubby found it in pieces outside his garage door when it didn't work for the umpteenth time and since I needed his attention I figured this seems to be the only way to let him know I'm trying to talk to him so I pitched it at his garage door. Apparently I still have a strong arm! Well the upside to that is we were able to get these slick little items. They work great and I have not had a single problem since I plugged it in. He can hear me and I can hear him, clearly!

Receiving the product from the supplier was great. Product itself was a different story as I have a brand new product that will not work for my intended use. I wanted to set up an intercom system from my house to my workshop (seems pretty common) but could not do as these two buildings are on seperate power meters. I did not understand when I purchased the system that it would not work in this type of appliciation. I was told that I could make it work if I was able to run either an extension cord or another power line from my house to my shop. This way they would be on the same power system.....not an option as it is about 200 feet away.I still have the product in its original box sitting on my desk....great use of my money.
