Review: Tricky To Get The "Just-Right" Amount - This product is incredibly thick and on the "dry" side (hence the clay in the title). It recommends taking a very small amount, rubbing between your hands (palms) and then using on your hair. I needed more than a very small amount as once I rubbed it in my hands, it kinda disappeared and I needed to get more. I was careful when applying to my bangs and crown, as this product could have the tendency to be too heavy and stick. I was pleased to work it into the crown area and there, it provided some oomph without feeling heavy or gunky. What I like about the scent is that it's somewhat of a mystery to my smell... it is not floral (which I am extremely sensitive to with real physical reactions)... it is not chemical (same kind of reaction), but I guess I would describe it as "earthy"... that I didn't have ANY sinus, head, or breathing reaction is a positive. Clearly, a little of this goes a LONG way to work into your hair. I would recommend starting into the roots on the sides and back and crown of your head so that you don't coat the outer layers and go light & easy on your bangs. I fear that if I used enough to discourage my long hair to frizz/fly-away... it would be too much product and be too heavy. Since I usually let my hair "air dry" (except for crown/bangs), my hair is just going to flyaway & get some frizz...that's the trade-off for quick and easy.
