DasMarine 12V Automatic Submersible Boat Bilge Water Pump 760GPH Built-in Auto Float Switch (760GPH)

But, I may adjust as time goes on.I assume this pump is the same as the ones I am replacing that had the Rule brand name on them. Sure look the same. Both Rule pumps worked fine for a couple years and then dies. I am also up to 3 boats so I got 3 of these DasMarine versions this time.Their primary use is to remove rain water from rowboats and canoes so I don't have to take the boats out of the water for the winter. I find one deep cycle battery will pump water for the 9-month rainy season here in Seattle with no recharge needed.All three are mounted to steel plates with a handle so they are very portable. I find a 9" piece of hot rolled 6" x 1/2" bar stock is about 9 pounds and perfect to hold it steady. A 1-inch piece of 3/4" schedule 40 PCV is a pretty good fit to the pump and I add a bit of silicone to fill the remaining gap. A 3/4" elbow slips directly over the bit of sch. 40. The riser is schedule 200 and is attached to the 2x3 riser. Finish up with 5" of old broom handle to make it easy to carry. (The elbows are not glued on so I can change direction of the output.)Wire connections are marine grade crimps having adhesive lined heat shrink to keep the water out. The third wire I don't use so I put a dab of silicone on the end to complete the water proof installation.All 3 placed in service October 2019. Lets see how long they last.March 2020 update:One pump has operated flawlessly since October.Second pump needed reminding to start pumping one time since October.Third pump needs reminding to start pumping weekly.See video for how I remind the "automatic" switch to start pumping. Note, I have opened and cleaned this pump a couple times (along with cleaning debris out of the boat) and this has not improved the pump reliability. The other 2 pumps are in the same environment with equal debris and have not needed cleaning.Since these pumps must be reliably automatic in most customer's applications, I am reducing my star rating from 5 to 3. Stay tuned for further updates.

I recently installed one of these in my boat, and it's working great. The built-in float switch is perfect for hands-off use, I can switch it to auto and let it take care of any water that comes in. The instructions were straightforward and the quality seems good. It pumps at a pretty high volume so will empty water quickly. I liked it so much I bought a 2nd one.

Exactly what I needed to move water. plenty strong and easy to wire and use.

Bought this to replace a popular brand bilge pump in my shower sump. Fit perfectly and a whole lot cheaper.

Failed in less then three months. So bad even if they offered me a replacement is say keep it and use the money to build better pumps.When a bilge fails it always sucks and I replace them yearly and move the old unit to back up duty but this thing didn't even make it a whole season in warm water let alone make it in the winter months.

Ease of installation and wiring instructions.

Appears to be a good product. Installation diagram is so small on the install guide that I could not read it. Even took a photo of it but when zoomed in, words are blurry. I was not able to hook up item to the auto pump mode because of this.

I use it in conjunction with a solar panel and 12 volt battery to water trees out of my pond. Works great.

Auto switch quits after time.

Won't be using it until next year. My neighbour bought one earlier and it works really well.

It works all day until it doesn’t. Don’t know what’s wrong with it.
